Clean surfaces as expected for the grade, with scarcely a trace of hairlines on Liberty's cheek and no significant bagmarks. Identifiable by a short, broken scratch which starts near the base of Liberty's cap and enters the field in the...  more 4413 1904 Very Choice Brilliant Proof VERY CH BR PF $2,400.00 Attractive and colorful peripheral toning on the obverse, less so on the reverse, with the centers bright and reflective. Liberty's bold cheek is clean. There are some faint hairlines in the fields which kept this desirable coin from a higher grade here. A delightful example of this date, which has a stated mintage of just 670 pieces. 4414 1904'O' Gem Brilliant Uncirculated GEM BU $9,000.00 Here is a memorable example of this scarce date which has been off the market for over 48 years since it last passed through our doors. Both sides are awash in frosty mint lustre with only a touch of gold toning near the rims and a blush of teal on Liberty's head. The surfaces are clean and attractive, with no problematic nicks or bumps. Toned with dappled copper-russet flecks on both sides, which favor the fields near the devices and lettering. A satin-like sheen of lustre pleases the eye and confirms the originality in abundance, a feature lost today on most other examples. Close examination will find some minor ticks on the lower...  more 4416 1905 Gem Brilliant Proof GEM BR PF $3,500.00 Golden toning throughout and pleasing for the well preserved surfaces and general eye appeal. While not as colorful as the other 1905 Proof in this sale, the present coin is a notch finer for its technical condition. Most of these Proof Barber Halves were chosen for their strong eye appeal and excellent surfaces. An appealing coin that has minimal hairlines or slide marks on Liberty's face, and these scarcely warrant mention. The only other fault is that more Barber Halves lack the dizzying array of colors found here! Just a slight touch of rub on the high points nudged this one from an Uncirculated grade. Substantial lustre remains underneath the lilac and gold toning. A few hairlines from circulation are present. 4419 1905'S' Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $950.00 A frosty and attractive coin that boasts delicate gold peripheral toning and clean surfaces. The strike is sharp and lacks only the uppermost definition on the eagle's claw and a small part of the arrow feathers. An enticing coin for the grade, and one which most collectors will appreciate. 4420 1906 Very Choice Brilliant Proof VERY CH BR PF $1,300.00 Toned with a thin arc of dark russet and blue around the right obverse with light gold also on the reverse. Clean surfaces retain their delicate reflectivity and show just a few stray hairlines. Another small issue with 675 struck in Proof. 4421 1906'D' Brilliant Uncirculated BU $375.00 Bright and lustrous, with a trace of light gold starting to form on the obverse and the reverse, mixed with some haze. The obverse is a bit scuffy from handling and there are some minor hairlines. A well struck coin to represent this first year of issue from the then new Denver Mint, and now celebrating its 100th anniversary. 4422 1906'S' Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $5,000.00 A very attractive coin that has delicate teal hints and gold over the vibrant lustre. The surfaces are clean and fresh, with no disturbing problems. For identification there is a pair of tiny nicks near the point of Liberty's bust. As for the strike, it shows the usual trace weakness on the claw and arrow feathers and is sharp elsewhere. Overall, an impressive example of this scarce...  more 4423 1906'S' Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $7,000.00 Toned with orange-russet covering both sides and framed by darker blue around the rims. Ample lustre in the fields and quite attractive for this issue. The strike is sharp with a only a hint of weakness on the usual claw and arrow feathers. A scarce date for the collector. 4424 1907 Very Choice Brilliant Proof VERY CH BR PF $850.00 White in color save for peripheral flecks of vibrant iridescent colors and the usual light gold enhancing the rims. Examination will find a couple of slide marks on Liberty's cheek, and a trivial short scratch hidden on the lower portion of her cap. Another attractive Proof Barber coin for the type or date collector. 4425 1907'D' Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $1,700.00 The surfaces have a delicate layer of gold toning over the entire coin. This does not diminish the lustre and adds to the appeal. Sharp on the claws and arrow feathers, but a touch of weakness is found on the eagle's neck feathers. A few trivial slide marks and a couple of tiny ticks hidden near Liberty's leafy crown. 4426 1907'O' Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $800.00 A touch flat in the strike, but this is offset by vibrant lustre and rich russet and blue toning. The weakness is primarily on the eagle's head and neck, less so on her crown. There is a scratch on her cheek which is well hidden by the colorful and attractive toning, and some hairlines which keep this one from a Gem grade. A lot of eye appeal as found on original, toned coins. 4427 1907'S' Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $8,500.00 A regal example of this elusive date which is graced by a thin ring of gold on the obverse, deeper russet and blue around the reverse. Rather well struck for this date and mint, with minimal softness on the reverse. The surfaces are attractive, although we note a minor scuff near the fold of the cap and a couple of tiny ticks on Liberty's cheek, which combine to keep this one from a...  more 4428 1908 Gem Brilliant Proof GEM BR PF $2,400.00 Bright white on the obverse with a hint of peripheral gold, the reverse sports more color with dark blue, gold and crimson flecks through the periphery. Examination will find a tiny rim tick on the reverse at 3:00, and this coin would be Superb were it not for this minor infraction. Still and all, a highly desirable example of this scarcer Proof issue. A mere 545 were struck. 4429 1908'D' Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $650.00 Frosty and pleasing, with peripheral russet on both sides. A few thin hairlines are present on Liberty's cheek and jaw which keep this one from a higher grade and are best seen with a loupe. A sharply struck coin that should suit most collectors. 4430 1908'O' Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $1,700.00 Attractive surfaces are enhanced by bright shades of lilac gray and gold toning. Ample lustre in the fields, and the surfaces are free of all but the most minute disturbances. An impressive specimen of this plentiful date. 4431 1908'S' Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $3,750.00 A vibrant coin which retains strong lustre in the fields and glows with a layer of coppery-gold toning on both sides with patches of blue near the rims and devices. There is evidence of a fingerprint in the toning, a rather typical feature on these. One small reeding nick is found on Liberty's jaw near her ear, but the surfaces are far and away finer than usually encountered for this...  more 4432 1909 Choice Brilliant Proof CH BR PF $750.00 Mostly white although there are a couple of splashes of dark gold toning near the rims. The surfaces are clean, but some minor slide marks exist on Liberty's cheek and a thin hairline on her face. A coin that retains enough eye appeal to warrant a bid, but lacks the technical merits for a finer grade. 4433 1910 Gem Brilliant Proof GEM BR PF $3,750.00 This coin has a cameo effect from the frosted devices which really jump out from the reflective fields. Toned with peripheral gold and blue, with the centers mostly white. Close examination will discover some extremely faint lines on Liberty's cheek, but these do not warrant more than passing notice on this lovely Gem. A trickle of 551 were coined and certainly not many remain that approach...  more 4434 1910'S' Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $2,400.00 A pleasing coin that has steel gray over Liberty with attractive light gold in the fields and around the rims. Boldly struck throughout and free of all but faint handling marks. Examination will fail to discover any real surface problems, and this coin has the eye appeal of a higher grade. 4435 1911 Very Choice Brilliant Proof VERY CH BR PF $2,600.00 Toned with russet-gold around the edges, with some spotting on the obverse, otherwise this coin would grade even finer. The surfaces are clean and attractive, with no readily apparent slide marks or hairlines. Proof mintages had started to fall by the time this one was coined, with a reported issue of 543 pieces. 4436 1911'D' Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $600.00 Toned with light cloudy gray hues over the obverse, less so on the reverse. Lustre peeks through which adds to the eye appeal. Sharply struck on all devices, and the surfaces are generally clean for the grade with minimal signs of contact. 4437 1911'S' Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $3,750.00 A lovely coin which has russet-gold toning on both sides, generally in the fields but also on Liberty's head and mottled to a degree. Fairly sharp for this date, with a touch of softness on the arrow feathers. Examination will find a few minor nicks on Liberty, close to her eye, but these are minimally distracting. 4438 1912 Very Choice Brilliant Proof VERY CH BR PF $1,400.00 Here is a highly attractive coin for the toning. The colors range from pinkish-gold on the obverse to green-gold on the reverse, with vibrant accents scattered in the fields. The toning is generally even and covers the entire surface of the coin, with the obverse sporting a darker arc of russet around the periphery. A few faint hairlines keep this one from a higher grade, but it more than makes...  more 4439 1912'D' CH AU $225.00 Very Choice About Uncirculated. Just a hint of rubbing on the high points. Attractively toned with speckled greenish-gold around the periphery, and satiny light silver elsewhere. 4440 1912'S' Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $400.00 Satiny with clean surfaces although there are some moderate hairlines present.
