Lot # Description Grade Hammer Price 4436 1911'D' Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $600.00 Toned with light cloudy gray hues over the obverse, less so on the reverse. Lustre peeks through which adds to the eye appeal. Sharply struck on all devices, and the surfaces are generally clean for the grade with minimal signs of contact. 4437 1911'S' Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $3,750.00 A lovely coin which has russet-gold toning on both sides, generally in the fields but also on Liberty's head and mottled to a degree. Fairly sharp for this date, with a touch of softness on the arrow feathers. Examination will find a few minor nicks on Liberty, close to her eye, but these are minimally distracting. 4438 1912 Very Choice Brilliant Proof VERY CH BR PF $1,400.00 Here is a highly attractive coin for the toning. The colors range from pinkish-gold on the obverse to green-gold on the reverse, with vibrant accents scattered in the fields. The toning is generally even and covers the entire surface of the coin, with the obverse sporting a darker arc of russet around the periphery. A few faint hairlines keep this one from a higher grade, but it more than makes...  more 4439 1912'D' CH AU $225.00 Very Choice About Uncirculated. Just a hint of rubbing on the high points. Attractively toned with speckled greenish-gold around the periphery, and satiny light silver elsewhere. 4440 1912'S' Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $400.00 Satiny with clean surfaces although there are some moderate hairlines present. Toned with flecks of tawny gold near the devices. Liberty's cheek and neck lack the usual bagmarks. 4441 1913 Choice Brilliant Proof CH BR PF $1,700.00 The color is light steel gray with some colorful peripheral toning near the date, more golden elsewhere on the rims. A few minor hairlines are found with a loupe, but this coin is finer than expected. Scarce, with a mintage of 627 pieces. 4442 1913'D' Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $700.00 Pleasing mark-free surfaces, but the lustre is a somewhat dull, probably from a past cleaning. Liberty's cheek and neck show minimal signs of contact. The strike is a hair weak on the obverse stars and central reverse. A lower mintage date of 534,000 pieces keeps demand high. 4443 1913'S' Brilliant Uncirculated BU $800.00 - with claims to Choice, particularly on the reverse. Toned with yellow-gold on both sides, this coin exhibits some hairlines on the obverse high points. The strike however, is bold and complete with no softness on the stars, eagle or claw. Another low mintage date with 604,000 reported struck. 4444 1914 Superb Gem Brilliant Proof SUP GEM BR PF $4,500.00 Exceptional eye appeal with incredible blue and purplish toning over the obverse, the reverse golden. Certainly one of the finer examples to survive from a tiny mintage of 380 pieces. Lacking the usual hairlines or handling ticks that are frequently seen on these popular early Proofs. An excellent and appealing Proof coin, and worthy of an extremely strong bid. 4445 1914 Gem Brilliant Proof GEM BR PF $3,000.00 This coin has light natural gold and gray toning with colorful flecks near the rims. A lot of appeal for this scarce date, and one which most collectors will long appreciate. The surfaces are clean and lack the heavy hairlines so often seen on Liberty's face and in the fields. Struck as the world was swept into the horrors of World War I. 4446 1914 Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $3,250.00 A frosty, bright example of this rare date. The coin is lustrous and free of all but minor handling marks on the cheek and neck. Fully struck on the eagle and stars. Long regarded as a key date, with a total mintage for circulation of 124,230 pieces. This represents a fraction of the typical Barber Half Dollar mintage, and keeps collector interest strong when an example of this date...  more 4447 1914'S' Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $1,300.00 Ample lustre dazzles the eye while a parade of colorful flecks of toning dance in the fields. Although some portions are a bit speckled, the colors are alluring when viewed under a light. Rather firmly impressed by the dies, a feature lacking so often on the branch mint coins. 4448 1915 Very Choice Brilliant Proof VERY CH BR PF $2,800.00 A glance will entice the collector to study longingly at the resplendent aqua, green and russet hues which embrace the obverse fields. Liberty herself is shrouded in an orange-gold veil. Matching but much less intense colors on the reverse. Limited from a Gem grade by minor slide marks on Liberty's cheek, but these are easy to overlook given the intensity of the color. 4449 1915 Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $2,000.00 A satiny silver-gray coin that has subdued lustre in the fields, but generally clean surfaces. There are a couple of nicks on the lower portion of Liberty's neck and another small reeding mark on her jaw which combined kept this from a higher grade. Rather well struck, but there is a touch of softness on the obverse high points. Another key date with a token mintage of 138,000 pieces,...  more 4450 1915'D' Brilliant Uncirculated BU $600.00 A satiny, white coin that retains decent eye appeal and a good strike. The surfaces have a few scattered hairlines and nicks, but Liberty's cheek and neck remain pleasing for the grade. Starting to tone with scattered flecks of gold. 4451 1915'S' Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $750.00 Irregular and somewhat mottled russet toning on the obverse, more organized on the reverse. The surfaces are decent, but there appears to be minor slide marks on Liberty's cheek. Reasonably well struck, although minor softness exists on the usual reverse high points. Final year of issue. Fresh lustre in the fields, and very clean surfaces. A blush of hazy gold toning spans the upper obverse, while on the reverse the delicate toning hides near the devices. There is sharp die clashing on the reverse below 'AM' of AMERICA from Liberty's sandal, and a tiny raised die lump under the eagle's...  more 4453 1933'S' Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $750.00 A well struck coin as usually seen for this date, with a touch of gentle gold toning on the obverse, less so on the reverse. Ample lustre to please the eye. Slightly limited in grade by a couple of faint scrapes in the right obverse field and a minute edge nick on the upper right reverse.
