Red-gold toning over abundant mint lustre with just a trace of friction on the most vulnerable design elements. NGC AU58. 2244 1911'D' Brilliant Uncirculated BU $7,000.00 - with claims to Choice. Rich orange-gold toning bathes the fields, while lighter wheaten-gold tones line the crevices of the devices on this lustrous, original coin. The 'D' mintmark is bold and plain on this key date that often exhibits a weak to nonexistent mintmark. A mere 55,680 pieces were coined of this scarcity, and in fact all gold issues from the Denver mint in this year are...  more 2245 1911'D' CH AU $3,750.00 Choice About Uncirculated. An exquisite specimen of this key-date. This virtually Mint State coin displays minimal friction. Champagne lustre adorns both obverse and reverse. 2246 1911'D' AU $2,500.00 About Uncirculated. A great example of this key date, the lowest mintage of the type with only 55,680 struck. Both sides are light yellow gold in color from an old cleaning. 2247 1912 Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $2,200.00 A lustrous specimen that would grade higher but for a well concealed arc-like scrape at the lower right on the back. 2248 1912 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $375.00 - with claims to Choice. This coin would grade fully Choice but for a trivial obverse hairline at the lower portion of the headdress. A frosty pale yellow gold example. 2249 1912 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $250.00 - and a rather typical specimen in every respect. The slightest hint of rose toning highlights underlying mint frost. 2250 1913 Gem Brilliant Uncirculated GEM BU $6,000.00 The quality of this coin's coruscating red-gold lustre is a close match for the exceptionally full and precise strike. Akers' research convinced him that this key date in true Gem must be rated R-7. 2251 1913 Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $2,600.00 - on the literal cusp of fully Gem. Splendid red-gold lustre enriches an exceptionally detailed strike. Akers called this date a generally ''unappreciated issue,'' especially in this high grade level, which he designated R-5. 2252 1913 Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $2,200.00 Crackling fresh mint frost is the defining characteristic of this rich orange-golden specimen. Strike is bold and surface marks are minimal for the given grade. Here is a simply splendid example of this early Indian Head Quarter Eagle. PCGS MS64. 2253 1914 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $3,750.00 - and closely approaching the Choice category. A wealth of delectable red-gold lustre saturates this splendid example of an historic date. Yellow-golden fields and devices are aglow with a full measure of icy satin-frost. Smooth and appealing. 2261 1925'D' Brilliant Uncirculated BU $175.00 - or finer. Sparkling bright gold lustre covers both sides, a glass finds two tiny obverse digs. 2262 1926 Gem Brilliant Uncirculated GEM BU $1,800.00 A visually appealing coin that combines boldness of strike coupled with natural mint frost. Examination reveals needle sharp detail accompanied by amber surfaces. 2263 1927 Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $1,300.00 Pleasing pale yellow and green in color on the Indian's face, lighter yellow elsewhere on the surfaces. 2264 1928 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $400.00 - or somewhat finer.
