Lot # Description Grade Hammer Price 4378 1892 Gem Brilliant Proof GEM BR PF $2,200.00 The centers present deep golden toning which graduates to violet and iridescent blue tones toward the periphery. The strike is razor-sharp, giving this lovely coin outstanding eye appeal. 4379 1892 Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $280.00 This coin has the visual appeal of a full Gem but there are some slide marks on the cheek that prevent the higher designation. Lovely iridescent toning over satiny surfaces. Here is a coin with a wonderful appearance that should be viewed closely. 4380 1892'O' Gem Brilliant Uncirculated GEM BU $2,000.00 Attractive mellow golden toning with some areas of light blue on the reverse and a thin obverse toning band. Very well struck for a New Orleans Mint product, this pleasing coin has satiny lustre. The '9' and the '2' of the date show slight repunching to the left. 4381 1892'S' Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $12,000.00 - with claims to the Gem category. If it where not for some planchet roller striations on the cap and on the cheek, this coin would undoubtable be a full Gem. Lovely iridescent toning over boldly struck surfaces. Quite scarce in high grade. 4382 1893 Very Choice Brilliant Proof VERY CH BR PF $600.00 Nice reflectivity under deep golden toning. The strike is substantial and the overall eye appeal is first rate. If it were not for a slide mark on the chin, this coin would be a stone cold Gem. 4383 1893 Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $1,000.00 The obverse exhibits mostly satiny lustre, while the reverse is drenched in gold which is framed by iridescent blue at the rim. An excellent strike gives this coin wonderful eye appeal. 4384 1893'O' Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $1,100.00 Pretty iridescent toning on the reverse with mostly gold and russet on the obverse. Frosty with the strike being a little bit weak in the hair. A very respectable example of this very scarce date, especially so in this beautiful condition. 4385 1893'S' Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $1,700.00 Scrumptious cartwheel surfaces display some medium gold and iridescent toning. The strike is very good and when you combine that with the lustre and color, this coin has a very pleasing appearance that would make any new owner proud. Quite rare in this grade as most are low to medium grade circulated pieces. 4386 1894 Very Choice Brilliant Proof VERY CH BR PF $750.00 Very deep iridescent blue and gold with rose gold in the centers. The strike is superb, giving this lovely coin its particular warm charm. A hair's breadth away from a higher designation. 4387 1894 Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $425.00 Some light slide marks on the cheek are the only disruption to very satiny surfaces that exhibit little if any toning. The strike is superior to most seen and the overall eye appeal is quite lovely. 4388 1894'O' Brilliant Uncirculated BU $1,300.00 - with claims to the Choice category. Satiny with the reverse displaying gold centers with iridescent blue borders. The surfaces display a light reflectivity that is quite pleasing to the eye. Well struck with only some medium slide marks on the cheek away from a higher grade. Very difficult to acquire in Mint State as most are well circulated. 4389 1895 Superb Gem Brilliant Proof SUP GEM BR PF $1,800.00  A truly wonderful coin with pale gold and iridescent blue toning. The surfaces are as if they were made yesterday, with virtually no defects worth mentioning. The strike is strong, which further enhances the value of this lovely coin. Here is one of the finest survivors of just 880 Proofs struck. 4390 1895 Choice Brilliant Proof CH BR PF $600.00 A deeply reflective coin that has some moderate slide marks on the cheek. The coin is mainly untoned and presents the viewer with a very respectable appearance. 4391 1895 Gem Brilliant Uncirculated GEM BU $7,500.00 A monstrous strike combined with outstanding iridescent blue and gold toning give this coin tremendous eye appeal. The surfaces are quite lustrous and will appeal to most collectors. A first rate example of this scarce date of which only 690,000 pieces were struck. 4392 1895'O' Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $5,000.00 Attractive cartwheel lustre with some russet toning in areas. The coin has excellent surfaces that have been well preserved. The strike is decent, although there is some slight weakness in spots. A very rare and desirable date in Mint State as most are Good to Fine, with very few problem-free Uncirculated examples available to the collecting public. An excellent opportunity to acquire the key...  more 4393 1895'S' Brilliant Uncirculated BU $725.00 - with the arm's-length appearance of a Choice coin. Wonderful iridescent blue and gold over semi-reflective surfaces. Boldly struck with even the most intricate detail plainly visible. A charming coin for the knowledgeable collector. 4394 1895'S' CH AU $350.00 Choice About Uncirculated with some claims to full Mint State. Pale gold toning over nicely struck surfaces. The fields are hairlined due to a past wiping that did not totally mitigate the eye appeal of this difficult date. 4395 1896 Choice Brilliant Proof CH BR PF $450.00 Light iridescence along with medium russet toning combine to subdue a good bit of the Proof surfaces. Only when held at a certain angle can one see the full brilliance of the fields. Here is a very pleasing coin that has decent eye appeal. 4396 1896 Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $1,200.00 - and on the cusp of full Gem condition. Vibrant rose-gold and blue toning over spectacular satiny surfaces. The strike is exceptionally sharp, which further enhances the lovely eye appeal of this exciting coin. 4397 1896'O' Brilliant Uncirculated BU $2,400.00 - nearly Choice. A wonderful coin with attractive russet and Prussian blue toning over satiny surfaces. The strike is excellent for this New Orleans Mint product which should lead the prospective buyer to strongly consider this date that is very rare in full Mint State. 4398 1896'S' Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $1,500.00 A pleasing blend of iridescent blue and russet over beautiful satiny surfaces. The strike is first rate and the coin's fields are very well preserved and boast a slightly prooflike feel. All in all a very attractive example of this tough date to locate in this wonderful condition. 4399 1897 Very Choice Brilliant Proof VERY CH BR PF $1,000.00 Deep lavender with some violet at the edges. The fields are glass-like under the toning while the devices are nicely frosted. The surfaces are as struck, with few if any surface marks that can be seen. A very attractive example of this date that should be closely viewed. 4400 1897 Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $500.00 A very attractive coin with gold framed by lovely iridescent blue on the reverse, the obverse not quite as pronounced. The strike is excellent over premium, satiny surfaces. A closer inspection will reward the astute buyer. 4401 1897'O' Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $2,000.00 Deep multicolor toning over decent surfaces. The reverse color is a bit lighter shade and gives up the underlying lustre much easier than the obverse. The strike is good for this difficult date. A coin not easily found in this condition. 4402 1897'S' Brilliant Uncirculated BU $550.00 - perhaps a bit better. Some light russet and blue toning over satiny surfaces. Well struck with nice lustre. Some light hairlines are all that keep this coin from a higher designation. There is a small die crack from the tip of the bust to the edge. Scarce. 4403 1898 Gem Brilliant Proof GEM BR PF $1,600.00 Deep russet toning over very pleasing surfaces. The strike is excellent, allowing Charles Barber's design to shine through in its full glory. A wonderful coin sure to please most collectors. 4404 1898 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $110.00 - or nearly so. Russet and iridescent blue about the edge. Some scattered marks are noted that are on both sides. A die chip attaches the numeral '8' to the bust tip. 4405 1898'O' Brilliant Uncirculated BU $800.00 - nearly Choice. Attractive russet and blue toning about the edge, the centers a light gold. The strike is decent but for the hair, which is a bit weak. Planchet roller striations are visible on the cap and the cheek. There is some evidence of die clashing on the front in the fields. A scarce date that is hard to find in Mint State condition. 4406 1898'S' Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $750.00 Beautiful russet and gold toning over pleasing surfaces. The strike is exceptional, which adds further to the eye appeal of this lovely coin. One of the dates that are commonly referred to as being from the ''Philippines Hoard,'' although this coin is probably too high a grade to have such origins, as most of those hoard coins are cleaned Extremely Fine to About Uncirculated pieces. A scarce...  more 4407 1899 Brilliant Proof BR PF $600.00 - with the reverse grading Choice. A few marks on the cheek are this coin's main detraction.
