 1877 50¢. Very Choice Brilliant Proof. Powerful mirror-bright reflective fields show a counterpoint of bold rose-gold and iridescent blue on the obverse, subtle rose on the gleaming Type II reverse with its pointed berry over 'H.' One of only 510 Proofs struck, this example without the reverse die cracks noted by Breen. Careful study under a glass reveals some trivial obverse field hairlines that keep this coin from the Gem category, but its overall quality is delightfully high and its beauty can only be called outstanding.
