Fine, and a satisfying example of this popular date. The reverse is typically soft on the eagle's head and tops of the wings, but this is diagnostic to this die pairing. Struck from the middle die state, which lacks the later die crack spanning the upper reverse. The surfaces are clean and attractive for this first year of issue, with medium gunmetal gray fields offsetting the lighter...  more

Extremely Fine and a strong representative of this high grade. Bright silver dominates the surfaces with a frame of speckled russet-gold coalescing around the edges and devices. Traces of lustre remain in the protected areas. There are some minor surface scratches in the right obverse field, but a glass is needed to find them. Clean rims and devices otherwise offer neither bumps nor adjustment...  more

1795 O.109 (R-4). Two Leaves Below Wing. Very Fine. Light toning about the edge with the centers bright...
Very Fine. Light toning about the edge with the centers bright due to a past cleaning. A mediocre strike over surfaces that do not suffer from any major marks. A respectable example of this second year of issue that should bring spirited bidding.

Fine. There is an ancient scratch skipping through the two upper stars and the top of Liberty's head, plus other minor handling marks and nicks expected for a coin of the period. Dark gray fields with lighter silver devices produce the desired attractive appearance. Sharply struck, particularly on the reverse, and an excellent collector coin.
2748 1795 O.116 (R-4). Two Leaves Below Wing CH AU $12,500.00

Brilliant Uncirculated and virtually Choice. Toned with a mixture of russet-gold and sky blue over the obverse and reverse, with muted silver present at certain angles. There are adjustment marks on the obverse, which extend around much of the rim with some faintly crossing over Liberty's face and hair. A strong loupe will find a light scrape on Liberty's neck and bust. Sharply impressed...  more

1795 O.115 (R-5). Two Leaves Under Each Wing. A nicely toned Very Good specimen. The stars, rims,...
A nicely toned Very Good specimen. The stars, rims, and legends are entirely complete, as is essentially all of the denticulation. Liberty is boldly outlined on the obverse, and is complemented by pleasant medium lavender-gray toning. Some of the obverse hair curls are evident behind Liberty's ear. The reverse is toned a somewhat paler gray with deeper russet at the periphery, however...  more

Extremely Fine in terms of wear but the coin exhibits numerous tiny nicks that are hidden in the reverse denticles. The strike is wonderful and the color is a pale gray with some gold blended in. There are a pair of obverse adjustment marks on the bust and a few scattered marks but this coin has a respectable appearance and should be closely viewed by the Bust Half specialist.
