This is the final obtainable year of the Liberty Nickel series, aside from the handful of 1913 Liberty Nickels clandestinely coined. 2,145 were struck in Proof to round out this series. |

Toned a rich coppery-gold over the entire surface with specks of iridescence showing in Liberty's hair. One of the key dates to the series, and not saved in large numbers in high grade. These were struck as a test run for the new Buffalo Nickels which were released the following year, and were the first branch mint issues in the nickel Five Cent series. Bright and attractive with pleasing satiny lustre throughout. The surfaces show a couple of minute specks on Liberty's head, others in the field. One minor nick resides in the field behind Liberty's head, above her hair bun.
