Sharp strike with rich satiny lustre and lovely peripheral toning. 2779 1858 Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $1,100.00 Silky lustre glowing beneath delicate lavender toning that deepens to an iridescent blue-green at the rims. 2780 1858 AU $400.00 About Uncirculated. light obverse rim marks; 1860 About Uncirculated. WB-102. The surfaces exhibit more marks than are normally encountered. Both have lovely color. 2 pieces. 2781 1862 Very Choice Brilliant Proof VERY CH BR PF $2,600.00 This gunmetal gray example has lovely rose and neon blue overtones. The strike is quite bold as one would expect from a proof coin. The fields are icy smooth and add a lovely contrast to the somewhat frosty devices. A tougher coin to locate with a mere 550 minted and many melted in 1863 as unsold. A majestic coin from the Civil War era. NGC PF64. 2782 1864 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $525.00 - and nearly Choice with a sharp strike, but with subdued lustre and with no distracting marks in the field. The coin is finished in a soft gray patina tinged with pale copper. 2783 1866'S' With Motto. Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $1,000.00 Sharply struck, bringing out every detail of this intricate design. A hint of pale gold enhances the visual appeal. Clash mark showing a reverse image of the bottom edge of the eagle's left wing is visible on the obverse next to Liberty's left arm. 2784 1867'S' AU $160.00 About Uncirculated. Subdued lustre underlies golden-gray toning. Tiny scattered flecks can be found on both sides. Reverse rim bruise at 11:00. 2785 1877'CC' WB-104. Repunched Date. Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $950.00 Satiny surfaces that have light iridescent toning about the edges while the centers are light grayish-gold. The strike is bold but the hand by the shield exhibits some light porosity. A very rare variety in Mint State as it is listed in Wiley-Bugert as a R-7+ in this condition. 2786 1879 Gem Brilliant Uncirculated GEM BU $1,200.00 An enchanting coin that combines sharp detail with impressive eye appeal. Superbly struck central devices are surrounded by smooth prooflike fields. Both surfaces are enhanced with attractive toning. Scarce. 2787 1880 Gem Brilliant Proof GEM BR PF $1,400.00 Outstanding gold centers that are bound by deep iridescent blue toning. The strike is strong which further adds to the appeal of this lovely coin. The watery fields are nearly devoid of any hairlines giving this coin wonderful eye appeal. 2788 1880 EF to AU $650.00 Extremely Fine to About Uncirculated; 1889 About Uncirculated. Both gently cleaned a long time ago. 2 pieces. 2789 1882 Brilliant Proof BR PF $500.00 The basic silver obverse is accented by narrow ebony outlines that surround the precisely detailed reliefs.
