Lovely orange-gold in tone and very lustrous in the protected areas. 3571 1875'CC' Brilliant Uncirculated BU $8,500.00 - virtually Choice. Distinctly frosted, salmon-gold devices stand out against flashy mint lustre in the obverse fields to beautiful cameo effect. Well struck, boldly lustrous and featuring less severely bagmarked surfaces than is average for this date that was found in hoard quantities several decades ago. 3572 1875'CC' Brilliant Uncirculated BU $1,800.00 A second. Frosty lustre shows darker areas on the highest points for remarkable visual contrast. Both Liberty and the eagle stand boldly forth, and are wonderfully free of disfiguring marks. Careful examination under magnification finds a few tics in the generally smooth fields. NGC MS60. 3573 1876 AU $450.00 About Uncirculated. Attractive pale coppery gold color gives this specimen its look. 3574 1876'CC' Brilliant Uncirculated BU $4,500.00 - and a trifle finer. Plentiful deep gold lustre covers both sides of this delightful Gold coin. The Carson City mintmark is sharp, but a glass finds a fascinating, lustre-covered dropped lamination at the rim between 'NT' of TWENTY. One of 138,441 struck in this Centennial year and a high-grade example among the generally lesser-grade survivors of the year. NGC MS61. 3575 1876'S' Brilliant Uncirculated BU $675.00 Abundant mint radiance highlights this splendid Type II Double Eagle. Nicely struck details add to the visual effect. 3576 1876'S' CH AU $450.00 A second. Choice About Uncirculated. Orange-gold with hints of copper in the bold mint lustre. 3577 1877'CC' Brilliant Uncirculated BU $6,500.00 Deep yellow-gold lustre shows darkening on the highest points of the design. Though there is no trace of actual circulation, the fields on either side show a sprinkling of tiny contact tics from years in bag storage, a reeding mark can be seen below the boldly impressed 'CC' mintmark. Here is a very satisfying example of a very low-mintage Branch Mint date, one of only 42,565 struck...  more 3578 1878'CC' CH AU $7,200.00 Choice About Uncirculated. Much gleaming lustre surrounds the reliefs, fields show only some very light marks consistent with brief handling in trouble-free circulation. This Carson City date boasts a remarkably low mintage for any business strike issue of the era, only 13,180. Dannreuther-Garret record 45 auction appearances of this elusive 'CC' date over 10 years, only four of which...  more 3579 1879'O' CH AU $11,000.00 Choice About Uncirculated, a high quality example that is virtually Mint State in terms of wear. Canary yellow surfaces are bright from a past light dipping, reverse surfaces are flashy and lightly prooflike with bold detail and absolutely minimal wear. The obverse is somewhat prooflike, with slightly more friction in the fields and at the high points. A glass reveals some bagmarks in the fields...  more 3580 1882'CC' CH AU $2,400.00 Choice About Uncirculated, on the cusp of full Mint State. This boldly reflective example boasts nearly prooflike lustre with a scattering of contact tics consistent with bagging. Here is a very satisfying, high grade example of a small mintage of 39,140 pieces. The Dannreuther-Garrett listing shows this handsome coin's grade to be among the highest recorded for 31 examples appearing...  more 3581 1882'CC' CH AU $3,700.00 A second. Choice About Uncirculated. This virtually Mint State coin retains mildly reflective fields creating a pleasing eye appeal. A wisp of friction is barely visible. A pleasing example and an important and rare second opportunity to acquire a specimen of this date from a well-collected minting facility. 3582 1882'CC' AU $1,000.00 A third. About Uncirculated. Although very slightly worn, evidence of a prior cleaning is visible. Both surfaces are somewhat hairlined. There is also a slight reverse rim bruise. 3583 1883'CC' Brilliant Uncirculated BU $3,250.00 Wonderfully deep red-gold surfaces are remarkably uncomplicated by major marks, both Liberty head and eagle are free of bagging to increase the coin's great visual appeal. This date is materially more elusive than its mintage of more than 59,000 would at first suggest. Finding an example of truly comparable quality would be a challenging task. NGC MS60. 3584 1883'CC' AU $1,700.00 A second. A strong About Uncirculated example with claims to a higher grade. Rich orange-golden fields and design elements retain more than their fair share of underlying frosty mint bloom. Wholesome, unmolested, and quite attractive. Only 59,962 pieces were coined of this scarce issue. 3585 1883'CC' EF $800.00 A third. Extremely Fine. Decent lustre for the grade. A few tiny marks in front of the nose but a pleasing coin overall. 3586 1884'CC' Brilliant Uncirculated BU $4,750.00 - close to the Choice category. An outstanding strike, splendid cartwheel reflectivity and generally smooth fields combine for undeniable visual appeal. This Carson City date shows a higher reported mintage than some 1880's issues but remains more elusive than other years with lower mintage totals. For sheer quality this would be a difficult coin to duplicate. NGC MS62. 3587 1885'CC' CH AU $6,000.00 Choice About Uncirculated. This softly glowing piece must be described as a very conservatively graded coin that is a mere whisper from Mint State. Satisfying deep gold lustre offers a tantalizing hint of subtle red. A few bagmarks can be searched out, some in the reverse field. One of only 9,450 struck at Carson City and certainly one of the finest examples of the much sought-after...  more 3588 1885'S' Brilliant Uncirculated BU $500.00 - and just on the cusp of a fully Choice classification. Well balanced, premium quality surfaces enjoy an ample offering of satin bloom on both the obverse and reverse. A highly underrated, very elusive date in this state of preservation. 3589 1889'S' Brilliant Uncirculated BU $1,200.00 - virtually Choice. Crisply struck devices are framed by wonderfully prooflike fields on this specimen that has the eye appeal of a much higher grade. 3590 1890'CC' Brilliant Uncirculated BU $6,500.00 - and a scarcely perceptible step away from fully Choice. Essentially mark-free devices and pleasantly smooth fields place this gleaming coin in a very exalted category. Red-gold lustre is rich, full and exceptionally satisfying to the eye. This late-date Carson City strike will amply reward the most critical examination by the most demanding collector. NGC MS62. 3591 1890'S' AU $700.00 Extremely Fine. Gently lustrous, antique gold surfaces; 1928 About Uncirculated. Lightly cleaned. 2 pieces. 3592 1892'S' Brilliant Uncirculated BU $450.00 - or a trifle better. Glowing, deep yellow-golden surfaces are accented by traces of rose toning at the central obverse. 3593 1893 CH AU $750.00 Choice About Uncirculated, nearly Mint State. Pale yellow-gold and fully lustrous, but exhibiting advanced bagmarking; 1896 Brilliant Uncirculated. Pale gold, flashy lustre, salmon toning. 2 pieces. 3594 1893'CC' Brilliant Uncirculated BU $9,000.00 - and virtually Choice. Gleaming cartwheel lustre saturates both sides of this thoroughly satisfying example of the last Carson City date, one of 18,402 struck. A glass catches a few very trivial surface marks but this coin represents the finest grade that is ordinarily available for this historic Branch Mint date. 3595 1894 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $430.00 - with claims to Choice. Yellow-gold and fully lustrous, with salmon highlights and minimal surface marks. 3596 1894 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $375.00 - with claims to Choice. Another. Some tics at Liberty's cheek join a reverse that is easily Choice or finer. Lustrous and salmon-gold in tone. 3597 1894 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $375.00 A third. Salmon-gold and exhibiting the usual surface marks. 3598 1894 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $375.00 A fourth. Lustrous and boasting a reverse that is much nicer than the bagmarked obverse. 3599 1894 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $350.00 A fifth. Pinkish gold lustre.
