Struck in a brassy alloy, this bright yellow-brown specimen was possibly struck on a planchet intended to become a 5 Centavos piece of Ecuador, which has an alloy of 80% copper/20% Zinc. The weight and diameter of this piece are within accepted tolerances of the stipulated weight (30.865 grains) and diameter (17mm) of the 5 Centavos. Very scarce. |
