 1881 Very Choice Brilliant Proof. Shimmering, glasslike fields are ponds of pure reflectivity on this light golden blue toned specimen. Devices and legends are extremely well struck and lightly frosted, resulting in a pleasing light cameo effect on both sides. A mere 975 Proofs were coined of this date, and this is surely one of the more pleasing survivors to be had.
