- or virtually so. Dazzling milky white mint frost and similarly silvery devices define this coin featuring a touch of high point friction. A wide amorphous area of russet-gold toning is at the upper reverse.

The obverse is pale golden while the reverse has some blue iridescent toning blended in with some gold and gray. Well struck. Some die striations on the left breast. A very nice example of this one-year type coin.

A second. Choice About Uncirculated, nearly Mint State. Here is a coin that is essentially Uncirculated but for a touch of friction at the obverse high points. Fields exhibit frosty silver mint lustre and a touch of gold toning, while the devices are very well struck on this one-year only type.

Superb mint frost is bathed in peach and pale rose toning on both obverse and reverse. Well struck and very attractive, this specimen is coined from the reverse die sporting a mintmark with a ''broken'' upper stroke.

- with claims to Choice. Pale champagne toning bathes the mirrored fields of this Reconstruction era Proof Half Dollar. Very well struck at the peripheries, the centers are a trifle weakly defined on this attractive specimen of a 600 piece Proof mintage.

The reverse devices are only lightly frosted and the surrounding fields are boldly reflective. Here is a lovely example of this important and much sought-after two-year type. Just 550 Proofs were struck of this date.

- with claims to Choice. Mirrorlike fields illuminate light lavender and gold toning on this crisply struck coin. A mere 1,039 Proofs were struck along with 8,000 business strikes, and the present specimen is about average for survivors of this date.

Shimmering, glasslike fields are ponds of pure reflectivity on this light golden blue toned specimen. Devices and legends are extremely well struck and lightly frosted, resulting in a pleasing light cameo effect on both sides. A mere 975 Proofs were coined of this date, and this is surely one of the more pleasing survivors to be had.

- and exhibiting the arm's length look of a Choice coin. Chrome-like, reflective fields display a glossy appearance, and upon closer examination prove to have been enhanced to a high level of reflectivity. A mere 1,039 Proofs were coined of this late date issue.
