About Extremely Fine. Cleaning long ago gave this coin's yellow-gold surfaces a fascinating matte-like texture. Light tooling at the top of Liberty's cap and to the left of the 'U' of UNITED suggest the filling of a hole or the removal of a jewelry loop from that area. Another. Extremely Fine in strict terms of wear. This coin's planchet is bent, showing a peppering of tics and some bolder marks in the fields on either side. Although this coin saw its share of harsh handling, it was never holed, nor does it exhibit evidence of jewelry use. Here, basically, is an honest coin that has seen mishandling over the last two centuries of its adventurous career.
