Choice Extremely Fine. Light silver with a dusting of gold starting to form around the edge. Slightly reflective. No signs of rim bumps or handling problems, features so often seen on these early Silver Dollars. There are faint adjustment marks present around the obverse rim, but these fade into the fields and are not readily discernible on Liberty. On the reverse, the eagle's breast...  more

A strong Very Fine or better. However, examination will find faint evidence of a skillful repair below the ribbon ends where a shadowy ''W'' can be seen with a strong magnifier, as well as trace evidence of smoothing in that area. Medium gray and reasonably attractive. The coin was undoubtedly cleaned and retoned as the surfaces have the commonly seen washed out appearance.

Extremely Fine. Well struck by the dies, with light golden toning over traces of lustre. The surfaces are generally clean but show scattered handling ticks from circulation. Early die state, with a faint die crack extending to the ribbon on the obverse. No rim bumps or adjustment marks are present. Enough breast and wing feathers are present to please the eye.

Very Good and near Fine. Soothing pearl-gray toning is relieved by clear rose on both sides. As sometimes seen, the obverse is measurably sharper than the distinctly soft reverse. NGC VG10.

Very Good and near Fine. Deep pearl-gray toning shows hints of underlying pink. This reverse is slightly more boldly defined than the reverse. NGC VG8.

Extremely Fine. Attractive surfaces show tawny red-gold at the peripheries, especially bold at the close-digit date. This reverse shows Die State B with an advanced vertical die crack through second 'T' of STATES, a horizontal crack through 'S OF AMERI'. This coin is boldly detailed overall and shows trouble-free circulation that harmonizes with its exquisite toning and bold strike to...  more
