Lot # Description Grade Hammer Price 754 1899 Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $350.00 Tawny gold and hints of understated blue outline the reliefs on this beautifully struck example of a popular date. 755 1899 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $650.00 The date is without a trace of repunching. A flush of clear gold sweeps the silvery obverse, a swathe of light russet crosses the upper reverse on this fascinating and colorful example. 756 1899'O' Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $3,500.00 Neither date nor New Orleans mintmark show repunching. Liberty's silver-white head is accentuated by surrounding lavender, light russet and iridescent silver for bold visual effect. This is a very scarce date despite a seemingly generous mintage. 757 1899'S' Doubled 'S.' Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $1,400.00 This San Francisco mintmark displays exceptionally bold shelf doubling at the right (not the left as the Lawrence plate). The final 'S' is measurably to the left of the first impression. Flashing silver is boldly variegated by lavender and somewhat coppery-gold for outstanding beauty. 758 1900 Gem Brilliant Uncirculated GEM BU $850.00 Powerful prooflike glitter in the smooth fields complements the vigorously detailed devices and legends on this exciting Gem. Lawrence considers the 1900 ''tougher than most later P-mint dates'' from About Uncirculated upward. This gleaming coin is ideal for the most carefully chosen collection. 759 1900 Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $775.00 This date is very heavily impressed and offers rather broad 0's. Pervasive gold in the fields joins bolder light red-gold on the devices to give this coin its exciting charm. 760 1900'O' Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $1,500.00 - on the cusp of actual Gem. The mintmark both leans left and is placed dramatically far to the left. Satiny smoothness is enlivened by the most attractive and all-inclusive smoky gold toning that imparts outstanding beauty. Lawrence calls this the most underrated date in the series, especially hard to find in all of the Mint State grades. 761 1900'S' Brilliant Uncirculated BU $950.00 The 'S' is in an especially open style with wide loops, unlike the tightly configured mintmarks of earlier dates. Gleaming silver-white shows dashes of handsome russet-gold for tantalizing appeal. 762 1901 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $150.00 The new obverse hub is defined by needle-sharp, pointed leaves, notably the leaf below the last 'S' in STATES. Boldly glittering silver shares the eye with dashes of peripheral gold. 763 1901'O' DL-103, Flynn RPM-001. 'O' over Horizontal 'O CH BU $1,700.00 ' Choice Brilliant Uncirculated. This New Orleans variety shows two bold mintmark impressions at right angles to each other, most visible in the loop of the final 'O'. Breen lists this variety as ''very rare.'' This handsome coin's frosty silver is laved in the most delicate gold, deepening at the peripheries. 764 1901'S' Brilliant Uncirculated BU $1,700.00 This example of a decidedly lower mintage San Francisco date (only 593,022 struck) displays scattered dashes of bold russet toning for sharply contrasting beauty. Here is an outstanding early 20th century strike. 765 1902 Gem Brilliant Uncirculated GEM BU $400.00 There is a hint of recutting evident at the top right curve of the '2' in the date (unlisted by either Lawrence or Flynn). Dazzling deeply frosty silver covers both sides, providing a splendid contrast to the subtle gold at the centers and the especially rich gold occupying the peripheries. 766 1902 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $200.00 Cartwheel silver is especially vivid on the reverse. The obverse offers pale gold with one or two tiny marks that can be searched out under a glass. Lawrence calls this scarcer than later Philadelphia dates. 767 1902'O' Brilliant Uncirculated BU $375.00 This New Orleans date is demonstrably scarcer than its mintage might at first suggest. This coin's frosty surfaces show no actual circulation but bag abrasions are present, particularly on the obverse. 768 1902'S' Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $400.00 The reverse displays a very sharp newer style 'S.' The wonderfully smooth, frosty silver-white surfaces approach Gem in their distinctive beauty. This hard to find Branch Mint date presents true condition rarity in these seldom-encountered higher grades. 769 1903 Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $725.00 - on the cusp of fully Gem. Strongly impressed date includes a noticeably closed '9'. Boldest cartwheel flash accompanies the pleasing steel-blue, lilac and lavender toning of exquisite beauty and appeal. A finer example would be a challenge to find on today's market. NGC MS64. 770 1903'O' Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $2,000.00 The New Orleans mintmark shows bold shelf doubling. Deeply glowing tobacco-gold peripheries surround the frosty silver centers. Time and a glass find a bagmark or two. 771 1903'S' Brilliant Uncirculated BU $1,200.00 The 'S' mintmark shows extremely open loops. Boldly gleaming silver show only a tantalizing whisper of lightest peripheral gold to stimulate added collector interest. Very scarce, especially in Mint State. 772 1903'S' Brilliant Uncirculated BU $975.00 The San Francisco mintmark is somewhat more constricted. Delightfully smooth fields are enriched by diffused steely-blue toning of great delicacy. 773 1904 Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $175.00 The '9' is so thoroughly closed that it at first suggests an '8'. The coin is essentially Gem with lovely frosty silver surfaces edged in rich gold for added visual appeal. 774 1904 Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $1,700.00 Dramatic swathes of vibrant reddish-gold contrast boldly with this coin's generally frosty silver surfaces. 775 1904'S' Brilliant Uncirculated BU $1,900.00 Thick digits in the date include a closed '9'. Boldly prooflike silver assures this beautifully struck coin the powerful charm of Choice. Here is a coin of greater appeal than some bearing higher grades. 776 1905 Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $250.00 This date seems wide at first glance with the tip of the '5' far from the bust. The obverse shows pervasive rose-gold in contrast to the silver-white reverse. 777 1905'O' Large 'O'. Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $900.00 This variety is distinct from the micro-'O' known from this date. Flecks of russet-gold contrast with underlying frosty silver to create undeniable appeal. 778 1905'S' New Reverse Hub. Gem Brilliant Uncirculated GEM BU $1,400.00 Thick right wreath ribbon identifies this reverse. Obverse gold and dashes of russet come together along the high rim, the reverse is largely flashing silver. 779 1905'S' New Reverse Hub. Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $325.00 The '0' in the date shows measurable recutting not noted in either the Flynn or Lawrence reference. Silver-white surfaces show faintly golden borders for added visual distinction. 780 1906 Repunched '6'. Gem Brilliant Uncirculated GEM BU $160.00 This date shows tightly closed '9' and '6', thin-top '0' and more visibly repunched '6'. This recutting, though similar to DL-103 in many respects clearly does not match that variety, nor does it match any such variety listed by Flynn. Frosty silver fields and crisp devices display only the most elusive wisp of faint gold. 781 1906 Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $160.00 Here is another example of this distinctive date, boldly detailed for additional interest. Fading silver shares smooth surfaces with variegated subtle blue-gray and gold. 782 1906 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $110.00 Date shows both '9' and '6' firmly closed but no other peculiarities. Frosty silver-white surfaces, lower obverse displays russet flecks along with a hint of clearest gold. 783 1906'D' Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $600.00 This pleasing example of the first Denver date shows tightly closed '9' and '6'.
