One of only two large size notes reported in the Census with this note being the only brown back. A very rare note from Columbia County that, despite its faults, is still quite desirable and should be heavily bid upon.

A few internal separations that are not that bad. One of only four large size notes reported in the Census. This brown back note is the only one known on the bank which, despite the problems, makes this note desirable.

2238. Plate C. Very Good. Some paper is worn off on the margin and at the lower left corner and some of the margin shows some chinks. The stamped signatures are strong. Some moderate soiling has taken place. One of only 15 large size notes reported in the Census. This is the second note of this type and denomination known. Though the grade is not exceptional, this is a very rare type note.

A note that is desirable for two reasons: it is a 14000 charter number which are heavily collected and it is a South Dakota type note for the state. Graded by PMG Choice Uncirculated 64 Exceptional Paper Quality. SOLD AS IS. NO RETURNS.

Only seven large size notes in the Census with this note new to the Census. Quite a difficult note to acquire in large size since the last time one was available was in a CAA sale in October 1998.
