Lot # Description Grade Hammer Price 1692 1844 Gem Brilliant Uncirculated GEM BU $43,500.00 Essentially immaculate, boasting the richest frosty lustre that the most quality-conscious collector might demand. This coin's strike is exceptionally sharp and full, resulting in needle-sharp detail. A wealth of yellow-gold drenches both sides, and diligent search under magnification reveals four minute coppery spots. Akers noted ''AU or Uncirculated examples are surprisingly rare.''...  more 1693 1846'D/D' VF $1,150.00 Very Fine. Light greenish-gold toning over surfaces that have been cleaned. A few reverse scratches and an obverse rim bump are this coin's major detractions. A very unusual die variety with the first 'D' struck too high and to the right and the second 'D' struck over it in the normal position. 1694 1854 CH AU $850.00 Choice About Uncirculated. Well struck with yellow-gold and coppery-red toning. A tiny rim bump on the obverse is not that detracting. A decent example of this No Motto type. 1695 1857 CH AU $450.00 Choice About Uncirculated, with only a shadow of wear keeping it from full Mint State. Considerable mint lustre and a strong strike assure significant visual appeal. NGC AU58. 1696 1857 CH AU $325.00 Choice About Uncirculated. A mere hint of friction is restricted to the highest points. Champagne gold surfaces highlight this low mintage specimen. NGC AU53. 1697 1861 CH AU $200.00 Choice About Uncirculated and nice for the grade. Pale orange-gold toning over frosty surfaces. A bit weakly struck, especially in the hair. 1698 1869 EF $2,000.00 Extremely Fine. A scarce coin in any condition with a mintage of only 1,785 pieces. This Reconstruction Era coin is rich in lustre creating a pleasing visual effect. PCGS XF40. 1699 1870'S' VF $650.00 Very Fine. A mostly greenish-gold toned example that has a very tiny rim tic as its main detraction. Typical weak strike for this date with a decent amount of lustre still remaining. A very scarce date with only 17,000 pieces struck. 1700 1878'CC' VG / AG $700.00 Very Good/About Good. Here is a survivor of just 9,054 pieces produced of this date and one that has seen better days. The obverse is evenly worn, while the reverse has been worn down to the letters in the legends and the reverse fields have been severely tooled. This is in all likelihood the most affordable specimen of this rare date that will ever hit the market! 1701 1882 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $200.00 Frosty yellow-gold lustre shows a few light bagmarks of limited visual impact. 1702 1885'S' Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $400.00 Frosty mint sheen bathes the surfaces of this pleasing example. Even the most minute feather details are visible on this well struck example. 1703 1887'S' Brilliant Uncirculated BU $220.00 A trace of reflectivity accompanies fields and devices that are drenched in mint frost. 1704 1892'CC' Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $1,800.00 Radiant mint lustre highlights this classic Half Eagle. Impressively struck devices are aglow giving this specimen terrific visual appeal. Here is a superior quality survivor of just 82,968 pieces coined of this Carson City mint issue. 1705 1893 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $230.00 Lovely wheat-gold surfaces are quite lustrous. This coin would be a perfect example for a well appointed type set. 1706 1895 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $220.00 Lustrous surfaces display a sprinkling of inconspicuous obverse bagmarks. 1707 1899 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $250.00 This lovely example has a rich yellow-gold color. Frosty mint lustre gives this coin a desirable appearance. 1708 1900 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $280.00 - and approaching the Choice designation. The wheat-gold surfaces of this example are bathed in frosty mint bloom. This turn of the century issue has great eye appeal. 1709 1901 Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $650.00 Bold lustre gives this coin a lovely look. An appealing example with a lovely pale gold color. 1710 1901 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $1,800.00 - virtually Choice. A pleasing satiny example that is decently struck and exudes creamy lustre. A few light marks are not all that detracting. 1711 1901/00'S' Overdate. FS-006 CH AU $400.00 Choice About Uncirculated, essentially Mint State. Traces of the second '0' are unmistakable, and this coin's deeply glowing red-gold lustre reinforces the quality of a bold strike. Here is a splendid example of a still-underrated modern overdate. NGC AU58. 1712 1901'S' Gem Brilliant Uncirculated GEM BU $3,000.00 Frosty mint lustre completely engulfs this honey gold example. The surfaces are pristine and add to the eye arresting appeal of this well struck jewel. 1713 1901'S' Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $350.00 Satiny mint radiance highlights this superbly struck coin. Sunset orange surfaces create a satisfying visual effect. 1714 1903 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $220.00 - and a better than average example. Well struck, satiny, and offering the slightest hints of pale coppery toning. 1715 1903 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $302.00 - with claims to the Choice category. Bright yellow-gold toning over well struck surfaces. 1716 1908 Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $375.00 Outstanding mint lustre and well kept surfaces define this wonderful coin. 1717 1908 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $300.00 Rich greenish-gold toning over very lustrous surfaces.
