One of 1,245 first-date Proofs struck, and undoubtedly among the finest in existence today. Here is a coin that will repay the most careful study and consideration. 953 1893 Superb Gem Brilliant Proof SUP GEM BR PF $4,250.00 Incredibly rich purple-blue joins a suffusion of underlying old-rose for breath-taking visual quality. One of only 792 Proofs struck, and it is unlikely that there can be any absolute match for this coin's startling beauty in the far smaller group of surviving Proofs of this elusive date. 954 1893 Choice Brilliant Proof CH BR PF $1,500.00 Splendid cameo contrast pits stark frosty silver-white devices against liquid-glass mirror fields of the most exquisite visual quality. This dazzling coin is only a faint hairline or two from a higher grade. PCGS PR63 CAMEO. 955 1893 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $450.00 - nearly Choice. Wonderful iridescent toning over decent surfaces. Some scattered marks but none too detrimental. 956 1893'S' Brilliant Uncirculated BU $2,000.00 - and virtually Choice. Here is a thoroughly appealing and lustrous example of this low mintage San Francisco date, distinguished by glass-gleaming silver and contrasting tawny red-gold of the greatest delicacy. NGC MS62. 957 1894'S' Brilliant Uncirculated BU $850.00 - and approaching a Choice designation. Forceful design features and semi-reflective fields are augmented by a blush of blended lavender and golden toning. 958 1896 Gem Brilliant Proof GEM BR PF $2,000.00 A lovely pearl gray iridescence enhances both surfaces of this stunning example. Deeply mirrored fields surround the frosted central device. The needle sharp strike adds to the appeal of this blazer. Just 762 Proofs were struck in 1896. NGC PF65 CAMEO. 959 1896 Very Choice Brilliant Proof VERY CH BR PF $1,250.00 - approaching a Gem classification. Watery underlying fields and frosty devices are embellished by a lovely blush of champagne-golden toning on either side. The design features are needle-sharp at every location, and there is a trace of sky-blue iridescence at the reverse rim. A mere 762 Proofs of this date were struck. PCGS PR64CAM. 960 1897 Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $400.00 - a whisper from fully Gem. Frosty silver peeps through clear metallic blue toning with tantalizing hints of clear gold around the sharp outer rims. This extraordinarily handsome coin is an ideal example for the determined collector seeking only the finest. 961 1897 Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $500.00 Mottled iridescent toning on the obverse, the reverse mainly a pale gold. An above average example of this popular type coin. 962 1901 Gem Brilliant Proof GEM BR PF $2,600.00 - nearly in the Superb category. Richest orange-gold and blazing rose complement delicate steely toning in the glittering, glass-smooth fields on this richly satisfying example of this important first 20th century date. 963 1908'D' Brilliant Uncirculated BU $550.00 Pale brown toning about the rim with the centers frosty.
