Brilliant Uncirculated BU $280.00 Rich russet-gray and steel blue toning bathe this coin's frosty, lustrous surfaces. Here is a high grade, deeply toned survivor of the important With Arrows type. 852 1854'O' With Arrows. Brilliant Uncirculated BU $1,600.00 - virtually Choice. A slightly reflective example that is bright white and very well struck. 853 1860 Choice Brilliant Proof CH BR PF $425.00 Pleasing cartwheel flash underlies subtle steel and pervasive rose toning, giving the overall quality of a still higher grade to this Proof, issued on the eve of the Civil War. 854 1860 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $220.00 Deep blue and rose contrast with iridescent silver at the peripheries. This rich and undisturbed toning enhances both sides of a boldly struck coin. 855 1860'O' Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $2,500.00 Satiny surfaces exude medium golden toning. The stars are a bit weakly struck but the Liberty and eagle are sharp. The fields show some light bagmarks but none present really serious problems. A very scarce coin in this grade which will repay close examination. PCGS MS64. 856 1863 Brilliant Proof BR PF $1,100.00 - perhaps a bit better. Deeply mirrored fields contrast with frosty devices. A mottled ebony toning stain on the obverse. Some hairlines are visible with magnification. One of only 460 Proofs issued of this Civil War issue. 857 1865 Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $1,400.00 - with claims to the Gem category. Satiny surfaces that are well struck and quite nice for the grade. A lovely example of this last year representing this tumultuous period in our Country's history. 858 1866 Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $1,800.00 A pleasing example of this post Civil War rarity. Iridescent pearl gray surfaces enhance the sharply struck devices. The silvery white reverse displays some mild central softness. 859 1867 Very Choice Brilliant Proof VERY CH BR PF $575.00 - on the cusp of fully Gem. Deep blue-black saturates this obverse, a blush of boldest rose distinguishes the reverse on this example of 625 Proofs struck. 860 1873 No Arrows. Closed 3. Gem Brilliant Proof GEM BR PF $900.00 Tantalizing straw-gold toning coalesces at the stars and reverse legend, diffusing into the silvery fields and meticulous devices. One of 540 Proofs struck. 861 1873 Arrows. Open 3. Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $1,600.00 - a virtual Gem of exceptional appeal. This breath-taking example offers wonderfully smooth, frosty silver fields and devices, highlighted by bold tobacco-gold toning around the crisply defined rims and over the date. Here is an amazingly high quality example of a date and type widely available in circulated condition but totally elusive above Choice. PCGS MS64. 862 1876 Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $450.00 This obverse displays dark blue overlaid with an iridescent silver sheen. The reverse is a vibrant blue-green with similar rich iridescence adding powerfully to the coin's appeal. 863 1876'CC' Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $450.00 A bright and lustrous coin with nice satiny fields. The strike is strong with pale gold toning. A respectable type coin. 864 1877 Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $725.00 Iridescent blue at the peripheries contrasts with clear orange-rose in the smooth fields. A thin dropped lamination is seen below the motto scroll. 865 1877'CC' Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $425.00 - on the edge of full Gem. Delicate, somewhat muted steel and rose toning characterize this obverse, more fiery toning enriches the boldly colored reverse. 866 1878 Very Choice Brilliant Proof VERY CH BR PF $850.00 Pearl gray and rose obverse, some reverse orange-gold toning combine to make this a boldly colorful example of 800 Proofs struck. 867 1880 Gem Brilliant Uncirculated GEM BU $850.00 Wholly prooflike with an exceptionally appealing golden toning creating delicate color on the flashing silver surfaces. A scarce low mintage date. 868 1881 Very Choice Brilliant Proof VERY CH BR PF $525.00 This handsome coin's cameo-sharp strike in complemented by steel and clear rose toning on boldly reflective fields for outstanding visual quality. One of 975 Proofs struck. 869 1882 Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $1,200.00 An impressive specimen with a mere 16,300 struck. The needle sharp obverse is quite satiny with close magnification revealing a few trivial lines. The reverse is superb with lovely silver radiance. 870 1884 Gem Brilliant Proof GEM BR PF $1,400.00 Darkly gleaming blue-black possesses an undercurrent of fiery rose and hints of bright silver for added visual spice. One of 875 Proofs struck and certainly among the finest examples available today. 871 1887 Choice Brilliant Proof CH BR PF $1,000.00 Nice mirrored surfaces that have a light tone. Well struck and quite nice for the grade. 872 1889 Gem Brilliant Uncirculated GEM BU $925.00 A razor sharp strike defines this classic rarity with only 12,711 pieces minted. Silvery white lustre permeates both obverse and reverse. A small, faint scratch is barely visible on the obverse. 873 1889 Gem Brilliant Uncirculated GEM BU $100.00 A wonderful example.
