A balanced twosome, free of any detractions worthy of special note. 2 pieces. 631 1858 Large Letters. Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $750.00 - or better. Evenly struck and fully lustrous. There is a pleasing overlying blush of delicate golden toning that accents the surfaces on either side. 632 1859 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $460.00 - or finer. Fully struck and exhibiting lovely red-gold lustre, this coin is an exceptionally appealing example of this one-year Copper-Nickel type. 633 1859, 1860, 1861 CH EF to AU $175.00 All are well struck Choice Extremely Fine to About Uncirculated examples. The last reveals some trivial hairline scratches under very close scrutiny with a glass. 3 pieces. 634 1861 Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $280.00 Pale pink and gold toning over well struck surfaces. The lustre is quite nice but there is one obverse spot that takes this coin out of the Gem category. 635 1862, 1863, 1864 Copper-Nickel. Brilliant Uncirculated BU $190.00 - and About Uncirculated (2) respectively. The first is frosty. The second and third are nicely struck and toned a medium olive and/or russet. The third is recut at the lower left crossbar of the '4' in the date. 3 pieces. 636 1864 Bronze, 1865, 1875. Brilliant Uncirculated BU $300.00 All are brown and retain plenty of underlying mint lustre. The first and third still exhibit ever so slight hints of mint red. 3 pieces. 637 1864-L Brilliant Uncirculated BU $325.00 - with claims to a higher grade. Toned a handsome medium brown over satiny underlying vibrance. A thin vertical die crack spans the obverse. The reverse enjoys traces of mint color in the devices. Very scarce. 638 1866, 1867 CH AU $375.00 Both are strong Choice About Uncirculated or better specimens and exhibit subtle traces of faded mint red in the most protected areas. The obverse headdress definition is particularly bold. 2 pieces. 639 1868 Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $400.00 - with claims to the Gem category. Well struck. A rich shade of faded mint red is augmented by underlying velvet-like mint lustre. 640 1869 Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $800.00 - or better. The obverse of this assertive example offers quite a bit a mint red in the more protected areas of the fields and devices. The reverse exhibits enticing faded mint color. Quite scarce in this condition. 641 1870 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $360.00 Well struck. There are some scattered minor peripheral specks that are evident amid traces of obverse mint color. The reverse is an evenly balanced red and brown. 642 1871 CH EF $300.00 Choice Extremely Fine. Light, even wear is evident beneath appealing olive-brown patina. Very scarce. 643 1872 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $525.00 - and essentially of Choice quality. Satiny obverse fields and design features display hints of mint color in the most protected areas. The reverse is nearly one third red. Very scarce this nice. 644 1873 Open 3. Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $300.00 - with claims to a Gem classification. Satiny, mint red fields and devices have started to gently mellow in a pattern that is just a trifle uneven at the right obverse. 645 1873 Closed 3, 1876 AU $250.00 About Uncirculated and nearly About Uncirculated respectively. A nicely matched, chocolate-brown duo. The latter coin reveals a trivial obverse speck just in front of the Indian's nose. 2 pieces. 646 1874 CH AU $220.00 Choice About Uncirculated and an appealing chocolate-brown example. Boldly struck; 1878 About Uncirculated. The somewhat pale color of this assertive specimen is indicative of a past gentle cleaning. 2 pieces. 647 1875 Choice Brilliant Proof CH BR PF $340.00 Glittering red mirror fields highlight this magnificent early Proof's meticulous devices for thorough-going beauty and visual appeal. This gleaming coin is a lovely survivor of 600 Proofs struck. 648 1875 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $160.00 Much natural mint red enhances this handsomely struck and boldly colored example of this early date. 649 1877 CH VF $1,300.00 Choice Very Fine. Here is an evenly worn, medium brown example of this rare issue. This date is highly recognized as the ''key'' to the Indian Cent series. Middle grade specimens such as the coin offered here, furthermore, are always in great demand by collectors. 650 1877 VF $1,300.00 Very Fine. A second. Unusual iridescent blue toning over surfaces that exhibit a moderate amount of circulation marks. The strike is good with a very strong LIBERTY. Very scarce and the key date to the entire series. 651 1878 Very Choice Brilliant Proof VERY CH BR PF $450.00 This glorious Cameo Proof displays contrasting deep flashing red fields with dashes of darker violet-red for outstanding beauty. NGC PF64RB CAMEO. 652 1881, 1889, 1901 Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $275.00 Nicely matched red-brown coins all are enriched by rich cartwheel flash, some blue-violet sheens adding to their great appeal. PCGS MS65RB. 655 1901 Choice Brilliant Proof CH BR PF $600.00 Deep red reverse contrasts with a blazing orange-red obverse to offer exceptional eye appeal and highest quality. 656 1904, 1905, 1906, 1907, 1908, 1909 Indian VERY CH BU $380.00 Brilliant Uncirculated to Choice Brilliant Uncirculated, with varying amounts of mint red; 1916'D', 1931'D' Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated. The first is pale red, the second is more rosey, both are fully lustrous. 8 pieces. 657 1906 Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $160.00 Blazing mint red covers both sides of this virtual Gem, as lustrous as when it dropped from the dies.
