- with claims to the Gem category. Powder blue toning over decent surfaces. A bit weakly struck but not that bad. A very scarce date in Mint State and desirable as such.
1217 1875'CC' AU $400.00

About Uncirculated or thereabouts. Subdued gray and gold toning is accented by faded lustre outlining the sharply impressed reliefs on this desirable Carson City strike.
1218 1875'S' CH AU $300.00

Choice About Uncirculated, bordering on Mint State. Powerfully struck with just a hint of rub on the most vulnerable high points. The color has been brightened at some point in the past as the surfaces are a bit too pale.
1219 1875'S' CH EF $200.00

1220 1875'S' CH VF $175.00

Choice Very Fine and nearly Extremely Fine. Faint sea-green overtones bathe the obverse fields of this otherwise steel gray example; 1875'S' Good or better. Full rims remain on this lilac gray example. 2 pieces.
1221 1876 CH AU $375.00

Choice About Uncirculated. A lightly toned coin with decent lustre. The strike is nice and the surfaces show some light lines. A scarce date with only 15,900 pieces struck including Proofs.

Outstanding mirrored fields act as a wonderful backdrop for needle sharp cameo motifs. Bright white color adds to the blinding reflectivity of this awesome coin. An amazing example of this short lived type. This example is one of the finest surviving of a mintage of only 600 pieces. NGC PF65CAMEO.
