Gem Brilliant Proof GEM BR PF $2,400.00 A subtle clear orange-gold sheen enriches the delicately reflective fields of this pleasing Gem, one of an estimated 600 Proofs released from the Philadelphia Mint. This reverse shows the complex design as it was intended to look, without the often unsightly die cracks and weakness seen on most business strikes. PCGS PR65. 1145 1877 Gem Brilliant Proof GEM BR PF $4,100.00 Dazzling deep-mirror fields show a tantalizing hint of champagne. Devices are startlingly frosty and clear, appearing to float on the brilliant background. Here is one of the finest known examples of a Proof-only mintage of 510 pieces and truly a coin worthy of a premium bid. PCGS PR66CAMEO. 1146 1882 Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $60.00 Mostly silver and gray with some underlying lustre. Well struck and quite appealing. 1147 1882 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $65.00 - and virtually Choice. This pale steel-gray example shows silky mint bloom. This medium steel-gray coin has some edge damage and a few shallow obverse scuffs. Despite its shortcomings it is still an acceptable example of this key date. 1149 1886 CH F $300.00 Choice Fine and approaching Very Fine. Pale ice blue tones are found on the unblemished surfaces. This is a pleasing gently circulated example of this second scarcest date in the series. 1150 1894 AU $300.00 About Uncirculated. This golden-gray specimen glows with frosty lustre. A lovely example of this better date coin; 1912'S' Fine, or thereabouts. This steel-gray buffalo shows just a touch of cabinet friction. 1161 1914 Gem Matte Proof GEM MTE PF $2,400.00 Bright, silvery surfaces give a boldly sculptured look to this coin's immaculate surfaces. This splendid coin is as nearly perfect as the moment it dropped from the dies. 1162 1914'D' EF $250.00 Extremely Fine. Well struck and only minimally circulated; 1916'D' Extremely Fine. A problem-free specimen; 1919'D' Fine. Pleasing steel-gray with a small planchet striation at the shoulder of the buffalo. 3 pieces. 1163 1915 Very Choice Matte Proof VERY CH MTE PF $1,800.00 A lovely example, just on the cusp of fully Gem. Razor-sharp detail underlies delicate olive-gold to provide immense dignity to this magnificent Proof. 1164 1917'S' CH VG $300.00 Very Fine or nearly so. Medium gray with no major distractions; 1919'S' Extremely Fine. Strong detail, but the surfaces are noticeably stained; 1921'S' Fine. Deep amber-gray with a central reverse scratch; 1924'S' Choice Very Good. A pleasing coin that is quite close to the Fine grade level. 4 pieces. 1165 1918/7'D' VG $750.00 Very Good or better. This pale gray example shows areas of darker carbon gray toning. Although this example may have been cleaned in the past, it is still an acceptable example of this popular overdate. 1166 1927'S' Gem Brilliant Uncirculated GEM BU $6,500.00 This marvelous example exudes satiny mint lustre. Not a blemish can be found on the spectacular rose-gray surfaces. A stunning coin that is scarce in this superior state of preservation. 1167 1937'D' 3-Legged. Brilliant Uncirculated BU $2,800.00 - and essentially Choice. Delicately glowing peripheral gold coalesces at the sharp rims, accenting especially vivid die characteristics of this sought-after variety. A forceful impression of the dies makes this a textbook example of this Denver specialty. 1168 1937'D' 3-Legged AU $850.00 Strong About Uncirculated with claims to a higher grade. This medium gray coin was impressed with a bold strike. A wealth of frosty lustre graces the surfaces.
