Independence. No.432. Signed by Ja.[mes] Coore and Ja.[mes] Green. Printed on thick coarse stock. 90mm by 65mm. Typeset face with ornamental borders. Pattern back, reengraved from the $10 1778 notes, changing the denomination. Imprint style similar to 1778, but 'Printed by James Davis, 1780'.
This is from very rare transitional series, created by an emergency Act. One of three different $50 types, this is one of only 498 printed and issued.... more |
