VG to F $220.00 108.3 gns. Very Good to Fine. Ebony brown with lighter high points, this coin's surfaces are quite rough, somewhat obscuring the '5' in the date and some lettering. The central devices are remarkably complete for the type. 1502 1786 Vermont Copper. Landscape type. Ryder 6. VERMONTENSIUM. F to VF $250.00 116.5 gns. Fine to Very Fine. Upper half of coin is fully detailed, lower half has been rolled and flattened, with a straight cut from right edge. What detail remains is strong on this chestnut brown toned coin. 1503 New Jersey Coppers. 1787 Maris 6-D. G / VG $60.00 Good/Very Good. Cleaned long ago, now mellow salmon and brown in tone. Obverse center worn nearly smooth; 1786 M.20-N (R-4). Good to Very Good. Coffee brown fields, lighter brown high points. Two large obverse hits nearly penetrate to reverse; 1787 M.43 obverse, uncertain reverse. Good to Very Good. Corrosion and scratches prevent precise attribution; 1787 M.43 obverse, uncertain reverse. Microscopic granularity and a few ancient scratches do not diminish the strong overall appeal of this fully detailed, wide-plancheted coin. 1506 1786 New Jersey Copper. Maris 16-L. Protruding Tongue. Rahway Mint F $136.00 145.6 gns. Fine. Dark chestnut brown fields frame light brown lettering and devices on this attractive type coin. A glass reveals microcopic porosity, which is not unusual for copper coins of this vintage. 1507 1786 New Jersey Copper. Maris 17-b. PLUKIBUS. Small Planchet VG $85.00 seemingly not overstruck. 134.9 gns. Very Good. Hints of coppery pink belie an ancient cleaning on this dark brown and somewhat porous coin. 1508 1787 New Jersey Copper. Cleaned in the distant past, with some coppery tones remaining in the centers. Despite some advanced porosity, definite signs of an undertype remain. 1511 1787 New Jersey Copper. Maris 63-s. Morristown Mint G to VG $40.00 146.2 gns. Good to Very Good. Surfaces are dark brown and a bit rough on this popular wide-planchet Morristown variety. Date is weak. 1512 1785 Connecticut Copper. Miller 3.5-B (R-5+). Mailed Bust Right F $200.00 129.7 gns. Fine. Deep olive-brown surfaces are remarkably smooth but for the usually encountered planchet striae on both sides. A few minor areas of verdigris are noted on this specimen of a very scarce die variety. 1513 1785 Connecticut Copper. Miller 4.3-D (R-6-). Mailed Bust Right VG $150.00 117.0 gns. Very Good. Graphite-brown fields encircle devices and legends that are worn to a smooth tan-brown hue. Date is weak, thick planchet striations are noted on both sides. 1514 Connecticut Coppers. 1786 Miller 5.10-L (R-6-). MBL. VG $420.00 Very Good. Blue-brown with reddish centers, this coin is slightly warped; 1787 32.4-X.5 (R-5+). DBL. Fine. Surfaces are greenish-brown, the obverse being noticeably but lightly porous; 1787 Miller 37.6-k.4 (R-5+). DBL. Very Good to Fine. Surfaces are a bit porous, with an as-made planchet flaw that goes through the coin. 3 pieces. 1515 Connecticut Coppers. 1787 Miller 2-B (R-3). MBL. F to VF $150.00 Fine. Chestnut brown surfaces are slightly granular with some salmony tones noted at the centers. A pincer shaped, as-made planchet flaw is noted at 7:00 from the obverse; 1787 M.6.1-M (R-3). Laughing Head. Fine to Very Fine. Medium brown with some minor roughness. Incuse elements from the reverse of a U.S. Large Cent are noted on both sides. 1516 1787 Connecticut Copper. Miller 13-D. Mailed Bust Left F $400.00 108.5 gns. Fine, or better. Double struck, the first strike was about 30% off-center, and the second strike was on center. Abundant detail from the first strike remains, such as the CONNE of CONNEC and the exergual line. Surfaces are dark brown and microscopically granular, with some lighter coppery toning at the centers of both sides. 1517 Connecticut Coppers. 1787 Miller 19-g.4 (R-3). DBL. VG $80.00 Fine. Light to medium brown, microscopically porous surfaces. A single verdigris spot is noted; 1787 M.32.2-X.1 (R-3). DBL. Very Good. Very slightly off-center, cutting off date. Ruddy brown and uniformly porous. 1518 1787 Connecticut Copper. Miller 37.9-e (R-5+). Draped Bust Left F to VF $93.00 133.5 gns. Fine to Very Fine, but flatly struck in areas, as usual. Surfaces are mostly smooth and chocolate brown in tone, with some minor spotting that is very flat to the surface. Flan is decidedly ovoid in shape. 1519 1787 Connecticut Copper. Miller 33.6-KK. Mailed Bust Left F to VF $180.00 132.8 gns. Fine to Very Fine. Rich chestnut brown tones dominate the fields, flanking light brown lettering and devices on this attractive mid-grade example of the variety. 1520 1788 Connecticut Copper. Miller 14.2-A.2 (R-5). Draped Bust Left VF $260.00 122.2 gns. Very Fine, but unevenly struck as are most Connecticuts. Struck on constricted flan, which has cut off the tops of some letters. Upper obverse and reverse are a bit weak due to some flan flaws in that area. Rest of coin is very well struck on this olive brown specimen. 1521 Connecticut Coppers. Draped Bust Lefts (4) AG to G $40.00 About Good to Good. All are worn or corroded to the point of making die variety attribution very difficult. One piece seems to exhibit the head style of 1786, while the other three are probably 1787s. Here is a group to challenge the attribution skills of a specialist. 4 pieces. SOLD AS IS. NO RETURNS. 1522 1788 Massachusetts Cent. Ryder 2-B. F $100.00 127.8 gns. Fine. Dark brown and granular, with some ancient scratches on the reverse. 1523 1788 Massachusetts Cents. Ryder 10-L (2) G to VG $45.00 One is Good to Very Good with glossy, chestnut brown surfaces and a large '57' stamped across eagle's chest and wings. The other Very Good or better but the edges have been badly battered. 2 pieces. 1524 1787 Nova Eborac Copper. Seated Figure Facing Right VG $65.00 96.9 gns. Very Good. Peripheries (including date) are a bit weakly defined on this olive-brown, microscopically porous specimen. 1525 1787 Fugio Cent. Newman 10-T (R-5). 1 over horizontal 1. Fine Rays F $160.00 STATES UNITED. 152.0 gns. Fine, or a bit better. Pleasing, chocolate brown surfaces exhibit some minor verdigris pits on both sides of this survivor of this very scarce variety. A straight planchet clip is noted at the 1:30 obverse clock position. 1526 1787 Fugio Cent. Newman 15-V (R-5). Fine Rays. STATES UNITED. EF $260.00 140.5 gns. Extremely Fine, but uniformly porous on both sides. Deep olive-brown surfaces retain abundant detail despite the porosity on this specimen that exhibits a tiny straight planchet clip at the 5:00 position when viewed from the obverse. 1527 [1792-1794] Kentucky Token. Plain Edge BU $460.00 150.2 gns. Brilliant Uncirculated, or virtually so. Glowing, original golden mint color may be seen in and around the fields and devices on this very well struck, glossy brown coin. A few scattered marks can be seen with magnification.
