1936 Very Choice Brilliant Proof, virtually a Gem. White save for a fleck or two of orange-gold near the rims, particularly on the upper reverse. A couple of minute hairlines in the fields, and a trace of haze are the only other signs of time passing. An excellent coin for the collector, and the first year of Proofs after a long hiatus of Proof production at the Philadelphia Mint. For the year a total of 3,901 were struck, a paltry sum by any standards today.
