1856'O' WB.101. Gem Brilliant Uncirculated. The Eliasberg Coin. A classic Gem example of this date with tawny gold toning and lovely surfaces. The strike is sharp on the obverse, but a tad weak on the talon and thigh above of the eagle. Minor die crack slices through the upper two points of the first star. As with most of the Eliasberg silver coins, the surfaces are a delight for their original color and dancing lustre. PCGS MS65.
Ex Louis Eliasberg Collection (Bowers and Merena/Stack's, April 1997, lot 1966); Bowers & Merena's November 2001 Sale, lot 4135.
