1872'S' Choice Extremely Fine. Somewhat mottled brown-gold and steel toning distinguishes this example of a very late San Francisco date. The strike was sharp, and the devices remain virtually fully detailed after brief circulation, the surfaces retaining pleasing flash. Here is a thoroughly satisfying example of a Branch Mint date with only 9,000 pieces struck, few of which were preserved in higher grades in the decades before collecting by mintmark achieved popularity.
