Satiny fields offer a glint of semi-reflectivity in the peripheral devices on either side. The strike is balanced and well above the norm in every respect. There is, however, some evidence of very light graffiti in the upper reverse field that is largely concealed by emerald-gold and vibrant blue peripheral iridescence. The centers exhibit a somewhat paler shade of mauve-gray. This rare date is well recognized as being among the more difficult to acquire within the Seated Dollar series. Only 26,000 pieces were coined, the survivors of which are nearly all circulated to one degree or another.

Lot # 1456 Session 2
Hammer Price: $4,500.00
