Choice About Uncirculated and very close to a full Mint State classification. Nicely struck, yellow-golden surfaces retain a full measure of icy mint frost. Very scarce and quite worthy of a significant premium. In fact, mint records indicate that only 1,000 pieces were struck. The survival rate, however, seems higher than would be supported by a mintage figure this small. It seems quite possible, therefore, that die wear may have lead to the obliteration of the designer's initial on a small number of additional survivors from this date.
