 1860 Gem Brilliant Uncirculated. A strike of medallic perfection gives this dramatic Gem extraordinary detail laved in pleasing tawny gold that deepens in the stars and legend. Liberty's facial features are meticulously defined, as are the individual feathers on the eagle. This Silver Dollar struck on the eve of the Civil War is exceptionally elusive in Mint State, and in this high level positively rare. The NGC Census Report notes that only four pieces have received this exceptionally high grade, NGC MS65.
