1832 O.103. Small Letters, 5 Recut at Upright. Gem Brilliant Uncirculated. Bold silver flash underlies lightest steel and pervasive yet delicate rose toning. An exemplary strike results in amazingly bold detail on both sides, creating an overall harmony that seizes the viewer's attention. Whether the coin is sought for a top-quality variety or type collection, it would be hard to equal or improve upon this wonderfully bold early Half Dollar. Exactly two examples of O.103 have been assigned this grade by NGC, none were graded higher. NGC MS65.
Ex Anderson Dupont Sale, Part II (Stack's, November 1954, lot 2093).
