 1893 Superb Gem Brilliant Proof. The color is absolutely marvelous on this majestic early Proof Barber Quarter. Deep teal and darker blue covers most of the obverse, with a few hints of russet intermixed. The reverse matching but lighter, with the deep blue surrounding a lighter inner circle of gold to light silver at the center. Proof mintage for the year slipped back to 792 pieces, few of which could approach this jewel.
