 1880 Gem Brilliant Proof. This coin has full deep cameo devices on the obverse, a bit less contrasting on the reverse. Visually very appealing and bordering on a Superb grade. No fly specks detract, and the surfaces show none of the usual distracting hairlines. Interestingly, the first '8' is attached to the shield ball at the base, as the date logo punch was placed too high on this die. A delightful example for the collector.
