 1848'D' Brilliant Uncirculated. A coin with excellent lustre that overshadows the moderate green-gold patina. The strike is amazing for a coin of this vintage since most examples of this date are poorly struck. A couple of small marks on the cheek and a few hairlines are this coin's main detraction. This date is quite rare in Mint State with the estimate being about 5 or 6 pieces in that lofty condition. A trophy for the Dahlonega Mint collector as not many come across the auction block this nice. ANACS MS60.
