1860 Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated, and boasting the eye appeal of a Gem. Here is a specimen of this relatively available date boasting intense, satiny mint lustre in the fields of both obverse and reverse. The strike is good and bold and surfaces are lightly toned in champagne mauve, making this a good representative of the Liberty Seated type. This particular 1860 is remarkably free of distracting tics and bagmarks, placing it near the top of the Census for this Philadelphia mint issue. In fact, this coin teeters on the edge of a Gem distinction and is a condition rarity as such.
Very faint die doubling is noted at the bottom skirt line of Miss Liberty's drapery.
