1854 Arrows. Choice Brilliant Proof. Toned with attractive dark tawny-gold throughout, with blue near the rims. The strike is bold and complete, as expected for a Proof coin. Scarce, as perhaps 20-30 are known of this issue, and these are eagerly sought out for the elusive With Arrows obverse die. The present coin is not the finest technically, with a trace evidence of contact in the field and perhaps a few hairlines obscured by the attractive toning, but is more than respectable considering the rarity and level of importance. A satisfying example for the numismatist. NGC PR63.
