 1894 Very Choice Brilliant Proof. The devices are covered in ample frost which creates the desired contrast against the reflective fields. Mostly white, but ringed in deep gold and blue. A comically high wire rim is found on the upper obverse, much more pronounced than normally seen. This result was likely caused by slight off-centering or a loose collar when this one was struck. Excellent surface quality with no disturbing hairlines readily apparent. Although a comparatively large quantity of 972 pieces were coined, this early Barber half retains more appeal than most, and any collector would be proud of this example.
