1843'D' Small 'D'. Choice About Uncirculated. Frosty fields and well struck devices are characteristic of this date, making it a good representative from the Dahlonega mint, which is better known for its poor strikes and lustre. Rich orange-gold surfaces are free from all but the most minor of handling marks. Struck from Winter's variety 4-D, featuring the small mintmark. Just 36,209 pieces were coined of this date.
