 1855 Brilliant Uncirculated, or finer. Superbly struck with a full LIBERTY and bold feather details. Surfaces are fully lustrous and amazingly colorful, with the centers toned in platinum blue and the peripheries bathed in light to orange-gold hues. Close examination under magnification reveals some very subtle hairlines, which fortunately do not detract from this coin's bold visual appeal.
Examination under a glass will reveal the faint outlines of the obverse designs on the reverse fields and vice-versa. The dies had clashed at least twice and had rotated slightly between clashings, resulting in two distinct sets of these impressions on the coins struck from these clashed dies.
