1850'C' Brilliant Uncirculated. A high grade example of this early, low mintage Charlotte issue. Only 6,966 were struck. This specimen is deeply toned in a rich, yellow gold shade. The fields are mostly clear. The 1850'C' is a very tough date to locate in almost any grade but especially so this nice. Described by the late Abe Kosoff as ''Exceptionally sharp - a gem.''
Ex Harold S. Bareford Collection (Stack's, December 1, 1978, lot 10); earlier ex Numismatic Gallery Auction, February 1950, lot 787.
