 1915'S' Panama-Pacific Exposition Double Set including the original frame of issue. Brilliant Uncirculated to Gem Brilliant Uncirculated. A second glorious example of this all-important set. The contents, of course, are identical to the prior lot; there being two coins of each denomination and/or design type struck in commemoration of the Exposition.
The frame included with these coins is in very good overall condition, there being excellent patina to the brass, and plenty of vibrance remaining in the interior velvet, ribbon, and cards. The screws, in addition, are original to the frame. The only notable defects are the loss of the reverse hanging ring and some tearing at the juncture of the frame and the easel support ribbon.
$50.00 Gold Octagonal. Choice Brilliant Uncirculated with claims to a Gem classification. Premium quality, pale orange-golden surfaces offer a wealth of mint lustre. Other than two or three inconspicuous reverse reeding marks on the owl, there are no detractions that even the pickiest cataloguer would consider mentioning. A satisfying coin in every respect.
$50.00 Gold Octagonal. The obverse is Choice Brilliant Uncirculated, there being some ever so faint lines that are visible under the closest inspection. The reverse is easily Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated. A balanced, compelling example that is quite pleasing to the eye.
$50.00 Gold Round. Gem Brilliant Uncirculated and of remarkable quality for a coin of this issue! One must look long and hard to find even the most minor of defects on this wonderful prize. The fields and design features are amazingly smooth, particularly in light of the fragility of this large, highly exposed design!
$50.00 Gold Round. Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated, approaching a Gem designation. Though not quite as nice as the preceding coin, this exceptional example is entirely worthy of its fair share of praise. Wholesome, premium surfaces are quite satisfying in every respect.
$2.50 Gold. Gem Brilliant Uncirculated. Pale orange-golden fields and devices enjoy a fiery glow. Assertively struck and displaying outstanding visual allure.
$2.50 Gold. Gem Brilliant Uncirculated. Satin-velvet lustre and bold definition characterize this handsome example. The lustre is not quite as intense as the immediately preceding coin, however the overall appeal is equally as enticing.
$1.00 Gold. Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated and easily of Gem quality were it not for a hint of obverse disturbance on the canal laborer's cap. Deep yellow-golden surfaces exhibit an ever so subtle wisp of rose.
$1.00 Gold. Brilliant Uncirculated and nearly of Choice quality. The ''arm's length'' look of this coin is that of a Gem. There are, however, some faint hairlines primarily situated at the lower right obverse.
Half Dollar. Gem Brilliant Uncirculated. There is a gorgeous blend of sky-blue, lilac-gray, and golden iridescence on either side of this beauty. The underlying lustre, likewise, is quite impressive.
Half Dollar. Brilliant Uncirculated. An even shade of gold is framed by the slightest trace of peripheral russet-mauve.

It is important to remind all potential bidders that the presence of two such Double Panama-Pacific Exposition Sets in a single auction does not in any way indicate that these sets are common. In fact, this cataloguer has never encountered any additional sets of this kind during his lengthy professional career, nor does he expect that he ever will again. With there being a paltry 5 or 6 such sets in existence, this may very well be the ''opportunity of a lifetime'' for all interested parties. We highly recommend that prospective bidders ''strike while the iron is hot'' for there may very well be no tomorrow!
