A check for $10,000.00 drawn on the First National Bank of Washington dated Nov. 22, 1867. The check was payable to ''Myself'' and is for a healthy amount. Affixed 5¢ revenue stamp at the left. The check is well accomplished and sharply signed. The amount is extraordinary for the time and certainly much more than he made in all those years in the Military. Some minor staple holes, but quite bright. Mounted by the corners on a display board.
