 Autographed Check on the Bank of the United States, 1793, signed by Thomas Jefferson. Third President of the United States. A check for $186.36 drawn on the Bank of the United States dated November 22, 1793. This was the first Bank. Payable to 'order' written over printed 'Bearer'. Issued prior to his term as President. From the face, a choice check with the signature full and bold. Hammer cancel at the left center and corner tip mounted (appears to be with a strong glue) with resulting light stains from the face on a display board. The signature is strong nonetheless and a sharp Jefferson check.
