Colony of New York. December 10, 1737. Twenty Shillings (One Pound). No.22811. Signed by Peter Schuyler, Peter Jay, and S. Rowe. Uniface, printed on laid paper. New, small standard size for New York issues, approximately 100mm by 55mm or so depending on margins. Printed in black by John Peter Zenger, but without imprint. New York Arms at the right, ornate border cuts with one pound weight as anti-raising device. Good, split vertically and rejoined with paper. The lower right corner is reinforced, some short edge splits, a void at the center, some pinholes and other flaws. A contemporary back pen endorsement and a pencil code on the paper strip ''iayx''. A rare series and quite acceptable in appearance.
Ex F.C.C. Boyd Estate.
