1652 Pine Tree Shilling. Large Planchet. The Straight Tree. Noe 2 (R-5). 41.2 grains. Very Fine, but this coin is very difficult to grade. Charcoal gray surfaces are generally smooth and attractive. Clipped down nearly to sixpence weight and an interesting historical remnant as such. A slight wave in the planchet, a relic of this coin's manufacture, has focused wear to the top of the tree on the obverse, nearly obscuring the tree in that area.
