A very strong strike with resultant bold detail provides this coin's basic quality, surviving lustre amplifies its appeal. 503 1872 EF $325.00 Extremely Fine. Here is a glittering example of the scarcer of the two reverse varieties of this date, which saw only 700 Proofs struck comprising both varieties. A wonderfully high wire rim can be seen on either side, and gleaming mirror fields show a tantalizing wisp of subtle glowing gold. 505 1875 Brilliant Proof BR PF $1,400.00 Toned a pale silvery gray over surfaces that exhibit numerous hairlines due to a past cleaning. A scarce date as there were only 700 Proofs struck. 506 1875'S' Type I Reverse, Large 'S'. Brilliant Uncirculated BU $650.00 - and nearly Choice.
