478 1794 S.28 VG-8 $325.00

Very Good-8. This medium brown coin is quite wholesome. Some microgranularity is found with the aid of magnification, but the overall appearance is smooth and glossy. The central reverse is weekly struck, but the rest of the coin shows excellent detail.
479 1794 S.30 F-12 $775.00

Fine-12. You could not ask for more pleasing surfaces than those found on this smooth chocolate specimen. The upper portion of the wreath is a trifle weak, but the rest of the details are bold. A lovely coin with the visual appeal of a much higher grade.
480 1794 S.30 AG-3 / PR-1 $220.00

About Good-3/Poor-1. Smooth, chocolate brown surfaces feature a crude 'US' punched on obverse and two crude 'S' punches on reverse. All 'S' punches are backwards; 1794 S.58 (R-3). Very Good-8 details, but with much porosity and many scratches; 1794 S.59 (R-3). Very Good-8 details, but displaying much porosity and some pitting. 3 pieces.
481 1794 S.32 VF-25 $275.00

Very Fine-25 details. This coin is a pleasing medium brown, but unfortunately is freckled with green verdigris pits. The reverse is the perfect die state with no breaks, Breen calls this state very rare. Aside from some weakness at the last letters of LIBERTY, this coin has very strong details.
482 1794 S.32 VG-8 $200.00

Very Good-8. At arms length this example appears smooth and glossy, but a glass reveals some faint granularity. The upper right obverse and lower right reverse show some striking weakness. A few edge bumps are the only signs of mishandling. Another example of the rare perfect die state.
483 1794 S.38 (R-5) VG-8 $1,100.00

Very Good-8. Smooth surfaces have a lovely sheen. Light brown devices rest atop deeper brown fields. The larger of the two obverse die chips is quite bold. This variety has a single berry to the left of the bow.
484 1794 S.41 (R-3) EF-40 $425.00
1794 S.41 (R-3). Extremely Fine-40 details. Medium brown surfaces are glossy, but are moderately rough....
Extremely Fine-40 details. Medium brown surfaces are glossy, but are moderately rough. The detail is quite strong and the centering is perfect. This coin is in die state V with two strong die breaks at the upper reverse.
485 1794 S.41 (R-3) VF-20 $550.00

Very Fine-20. A pleasing smooth brown example with nice glossy surfaces. An old thin scratch is found in the field before Liberty's face. The details are full except for at ONE CENT where there is a die bulge.
486 1794 S.41 (R-3) F-15 $500.00

Fine-15. This example is well struck and well centered, but the surfaces are grainy. The color is a pleasant brown with lighter high points. The die bulge is beginning to form at the intersection of the two reverse die cracks that are so common to this variety.
487 1794 S.42 (R-4) EF-40 $1,800.00

Extremely Fine-40. Here is a coin with superb eye appeal. The color is a tad on the dark side, but the smooth glossy surfaces more than make up for it. A touch of even microscopic granularity is noted, but one must strain to find it. There is some weakness near OF, but that is how this variety is always found. A lovely coin with the look of a higher grade. Very scarce so finely preserved.
488 1794 S.43 F-15 $260.00

Fine-15. This dark brown coin is evenly rough. A heavy die break is found at the reverse running from the rim, through the 'U', and into the wreath. The coin is well centered and shows no signs of being mishandled.
489 1794 S.44 F-15 $375.00

Fine-15. This coin's surfaces are granular, more so at the reverse. All details are visible, the date is sharp and has a die crack running through the '7'. A decent example.
490 1794 S.44 F-15 $220.00

Fine-15. Here is a coin with good details, but the surfaces are marred by verdigris and corrosion. The berry to the left of CENT is quite large, a hallmark of this die.
491 1794 S.46 (R-3) VG-8 $425.00

Very Good-8. The motifs of this example are smooth and glossy as the result of circulation. The fields are granular, especially at the reverse. There is an area of weakness at the lower reverse, but the strike is well centered.
492 1794 S.54 (R-3) VF-20 $1,200.00

Very Fine-20. Pale brown devices contrast beautifully against olive-brown fields. The surfaces are granular, but just lightly so. Careful scrutiny reveals a few edge bumps and pin scratches, but none are very distracting. Although this coin does not make it into the Condition Census, bear in mind that this is a very eye-appealing specimen of a variety that is unknown in Mint State.
493 1794 S.57 VF-20 $500.00

Very Fine-20. The small ''button'' found at the bottom of the cap is clear and is a diagnostic of the variety. The surfaces are glossy and mostly pale brown. A wholesome collector's coin.
494 1794 S.57 VG-10 $300.00

Very Good-10 in terms of wear. Olive brown surfaces exhibit porosity and some corrosion; 1801 S.219. Three Errors Reverse. Good-4. Porous, with a large unretained struck through or planchet flaw at the left obverse; 1803 S.260. Large Date, Large Fraction. Fine-15. An attractive dark brown Cent with only a few minor edge bruises. 3 pieces.
495 1794 S.58 (R-3) F-12 $280.00

Fine-12 details. A difficult coin to grade since its granular surfaces have been buffed smooth at the obverse. The result is a coin with obverse devices that are present, but ghost-like and undefined. The reverse was not tampered with and features fairly smooth devices against grainy fields. The color is quite dark and there is a minute planchet clip just right of the date.
496 1794 S.59 (R-3) F-15 $325.00

Fine-15. Mahogony brown devices are accentuated by deeper toned fields. The surfaces are moderately porous, but there is no deep corrosion or any verdigris. The recutting of the left bow is plainly visible to the naked eye.
497 1794 S.60 (R-3) F-15 $240.00

Fine-15. Moderate corrosion covers the surfaces of this coin. The color is generally olive-brown, but the correct lighting finds a salmon pink hue at the obverse high points, the tell-tale sign of a past cleaning. A well struck coin with good detail.
498 1794 S.60 (R-3) G-4 $150.00

Good-4. The bust and date are quite bold at the obverse, but the reverse was weakly struck and very little detail remains. Some spots of corrosion are found, but none affect any major devices. The overall appearance is glossy and smooth.
499 1794 S.61 (R-4) VG-8 $140.00

Very Good-8 details. The date and all legends are clear, but the surfaces are quite porous. The color is a medium brown and the porosity is worn smooth at the high points, enhancing the appearance. A variety that is difficult to locate.
500 1794 S.63 F-12 $335.00

Fine-12. The color is a trifle dark but the surfaces are generally smooth and glossy. All legends are readable, though weak in some areas. The date is clearly identified as the 'Fallen 4' variety.
501 1794 S.63 F-12 $335.00

Fine-12. This mostly pale brown example is lighter at the lower obverse and more of a burgundy tone at the lower reverse. The surfaces are generally smooth, but some light porosity can be found.
502 1794 S.63 F-12 $205.00

Fine-12 detail. All legends are plainly readable, but the surfaces are quite porous. Several rim marks can be found on either side. The date is bold and it is clear why Clapp called this the 'Drunken Diecutter's Obverse.'
503 1794 S.65 VF-25 $850.00

Very Fine-25. Deep brown surfaces have an alluring sheen. There is some microscopic granularity, but the surfaces appear hard and smooth to the naked eye. A few light rim marks and some weakness at the lower reverse do little to distract. A pleasing coin with excellent eye appeal.
504 1794 S.65 VF-20 $425.00

Very Fine-20. Dark brown surfaces display light, even porosity. There are no deep corrosion spots or major marks. The rims are quite clean for a pleasing effect. A well struck example.
505 1794 S.65 F-15 $280.00

Fine-15. This example displays even porosity. The color is a deep brown with some olive toning. The obverse is quite bold, but the reverse is a bit weakly struck.
506 1794 S.67 (R-3) AG-3 $100.00

About Good-3. Struck from misaligned dies, leaving the left half of the obverse and two thirds of the reverse quite weak. Some microgranularity is found, but the arms length appearance is quite smooth and glossy.
507 1794 S.69 (R-3) VF-20 $1,800.00

Very Fine-20. Chocolate brown surfaces show a bit of a woodgrain color scheme. The left half of the reverse is a bit lightly struck, but all legends are fully readable. The obverse is well struck and the 'Blundered 1' is easy to see. An attractive example.
