The detail is that of a strong Choice Very Fine specimen, however there is a clean, ancient hole at 12:30. Evenly worn and toned in varying shades of pleasing medium gray. This example as well as the piece that immediately follows are both excellent...  more 2443 1801 B.1 EF $1,200.00 Extremely Fine from the standpoint of wear. This piece was rather crudely holed many, many years ago as the color is entirely honest and original. Muted mint frost is quite evident in the protected areas of the legends and design features. A few scattered rim bumps are present. 2445 1860'O' CH AU $330.00 Choice About Uncirculated. Struck at the historic New Orleans Mint on the eve of the Civil War, this coin shows evidence of a past cleaning in an effort to remove dark deposits on the obverse. 2446 1865 Brilliant Proof BR PF $1,400.00 This desirable Liberty Seated date boasts a Proof mintage of only 500 pieces. This brilliant silver piece displays the crisp precision of strike expected from Philadelphia Proofs of its era, but shows evidence of a thorough cleaning long ago with resultant hairlines in its bright fields. 2447 1870 F $150.00 Fine. With the exception of there being a handful of ancient hairline scratches at the central obverse, this pale gray specimen is for the most part evenly worn. 2448 1871 EF to AU $375.00 Extremely Fine to About Uncirculated. Strong detail despite limited circulation and a few light field marks define this pleasing example of a significant late date. 2449 1872 EF $100.00 Extremely Fine in terms of wear with a large shallow 'X' scratched into the obverse. 2450 1872 F $140.00 Fine. Wear is appropriate to the grade but the coin reveals a past cleaning, a pinscratch at the lower obverse, and a couple of rim bruises. Trade Dollars Lot # Description Grade Hammer Price 2451 1873 AU $175.00 The reverse used to strike this coin is unlisted by Breen as a glass reveals rather noticeable doubling at STATES OF AMERICA on the reverse. Many of the letters in the reverse legend, furthermore, are broken in some respect. A strong Extremely Fine, approaching About Uncirculated in terms of wear. There are light hairlines from a past cleaning, as well as some shallow edge bruises. 2452 1875'S' AU $150.00 About Uncirculated. Here is a high grade, well-detailed coin that has been noticeably cleaned in the past. 2453 1876'S' EF $111.00 Extremely Fine. Muted gray and glowing gold toning define this evenly circulated Trade Dollar. 2454 1877 EF $120.00 Extremely Fine. Well struck and very deeply toned in graphite gray on both sides. A few areas of graininess are noted on both sides. 2455 1877'S' EF $120.00 Extremely Fine with pale iridescent toning over well preserved surfaces. Sharply struck. 2456 1877'S' EF $65.00 Easily Extremely Fine or better in terms of detail.
