Extremely Fine. Attractive speckled gold and blue peripheral toning, brighter silver elsewhere. Moderate hairlines, but no other surface faults. Good eye appeal for this early date.

Very Fine. Steel gray with golden accents in the fields, and the usual light hairlines. Both dies show evidence of clashing, and the surfaces are acceptable for the grade.

Extremely Fine, but cleaned long ago with the usual resulting hairlines, now steel gray with dark blue edges. Unevenly struck, with sharp curls on Liberty, but weakness on the left reverse ribbon. Both dies show clash marks. One thin pin scratch through Liberty's lower curls and a splash of dark patina in the shield lines.

Nearly Extremely Fine. Cleaned to a light gray with a touch of gold, and dull. Boldly clashed dies.

Extremely Fine and pleasing with flashy lustre in the protected areas and strong eye appeal. One dull scrape is found crossing the olive leaves below the wingtip. Trace hairlines are offset by blue and gold peripheral toning.

Very Fine. Rather attractive for the grade, with dark gray surfaces which retain some historic dirt attesting the originality. Strong die clashing with ''ear bars'' on Liberty's neck from the reverse shield, and additional die clashing is seen in the fields.

Very Fine. Nice color and surfaces for the grade, one small nick left of the eagle's beak. Bold die clashing and ringed with russet and blue.

Very Good. A moderate grade for this popular overdate, with attractive peripheral color and light centers. One thin scratch in the left obverse field and the eagle's head is worn away from circulation.

Very Fine with claims to Extremely Fine. Russet gold adheres to the recessess of the design, lighter silver on the high points. Minor hairlines are visible with a magnifier, but the surfaces and rims are pleasing overall. A scarce and desirable lapped die state for the specialist that shows a single leaf below the eagle's wing.

Very Fine. Steel gray and attractive, with several small deposits of ancient dirt which can likely be removed. The surfaces are pleasant for the grade.

Fine. Pleasing dark blue and gray peripheral toning, medium silver at the centers with scattered hairlines.

Extremely Fine. A frosty and bright coin with dark blue and gold toning on the obverse rims, dark russet spanning the reverse.
