1863 Gem Brilliant Uncirculated. Here is a boldly gleaming example of this sought-after Civil War date, one of 14,000 business strikes produced. Lavish electric blue and deep rose toning distinguish the obverse, the cereal wreath reverse is more delicately toned for a delightful contrast. This dramatically beautiful coin shows many characteristics of a true Proof, but the obverse shows the last 'A' in AMERICA not filled and the pendant well right of center of the '6'. Based on these die specifics, it is our judgment that this exquisite coin is one of the significantly rarer business strikes.
